Huge congratulations to our incredible Evergreen Transition Program graduates! 🎓
This year our Evergreen Transition Program (ETP) students accomplished so much to foster independence in employment, education, training and life skills! Our ETP students prepared for employment with numerous job site experiences, such as the Everbean Cafe and BSD Mailroom, as well as practicing interviews for employment. They also held numerous ETP social events to foster social skills and build community. We're so proud of everything you've achieved! Congratulations, ETP graduates, and thank you for being an important part of our BSD community!

Before crossing the graduation stage, many of our BSD seniors are heading back to their elementary schools to take a walk down memory lane. Over the past few weeks, seniors had the opportunity to reconnect with former teachers and classmates with activities including walking familiar halls, playing on the playgrounds, reminiscing on old photos, and listening to stories in the library. It's truly a full-circle moment reminding our seniors of how far they've come.

We're kicking off our graduation season by celebrating the various identities, cultures and communities that uplift our students along the way. Over the past few weeks, our community and cultural celebrations honored students, families and community partners who play an important role in each graduate's journey. These optional celebrations don't replace our official graduations -- they create space to recognize the traditions, histories and unique lived experiences that shape our students' paths to graduation.
Some of this year's celebrations included the Eastside Native American Education Program (ENAEP) Graduation Ceremony, Black Student Graduation, the Youth Eastside Services (YES) and Latino H.E.A.T. Celebración de Graduados Latinos, and Sammamish High School's Filipino Club celebration.
Stay tuned for highlights from our upcoming graduation ceremonies and share your graduation moments by using the tags and . Visit our Graduation Ceremonies webpage for details of our upcoming graduation and promotion ceremonies: https://www.bsd405.org/about-us/calendar/graduation-ceremonies

We're giving a special shoutout to Lakshmi A. and Anusha A. from Interlake for their historic performance at local, regional, state, national and international science fairs this year! Both students placed in the top 4 in the largest science fair competition in the world, the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)! It's the first time two students from the same state, and even the same school, have both finished in the top 5!
Lakshmi received the Regeneron Young Scientist Award for her project: Stormwater Remediation of 6PPD and 6PPD-Quinone Using Sustainable Citric Acid and Aluminum Crosslinked Nanocellulose Hydrosponges.
Anusha received the F. Thomson Leighton and Bonnie Berger Family Prize for STEM Excellence for her project: Harmonically Adaptive Real-Time Multimodal Output for Neural Integration, an AI-Powered Music Therapy Platform for Global Mental Health.
We are incredibly proud to have Lakshmi and Anusha represent Interlake High School and BSD on the global stage! Join us in celebrating these outstanding student researchers!

Did you know that BHS will soon be offering Asian American Studies? This is all thanks to the leadership of Bellevue High School student Ava C. and the support of Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Busch!
Ava recognized a gap in understanding Asian American history and advocated for a course that better reflects the diversity of our Bellevue community, so more students can see themselves, and their stories, represented in the classroom. With support from Mr. Busch and additional guidance from BSD staff including Mr. Michener, Ava went through the process of establishing Asian American Studies as an official course.
This is a powerful example of student voice shaping what we learn. Thank you to Ava, Mr. Busch and the many staff members who helped bring this vision to life!

SchooLinks is the adopted platform for High School and Beyond Plans for all BSD secondary students. Through SchooLinks, students in grades 6-12 can explore their interests, strengths and goals while taking charge of their learning journey.
As summer approaches, we're sharing some SchooLinks reminders to our secondary students and their families, including information about submitting High School and Beyond plans, community service hours tracking, and the College Application Manager.
