Natural Start Preschool

Natural Start Preschool Children go outdoors almost every day, where they learn about nature, shapes, patterns, and colors in the natural world around them.

Natural Start Preschool is a nature-based preschool that combines Kindergarten readiness with experiences in nature, physical activity and environmental education. Natural Start Preschool offers a unique nature-based curriculum that meets the developmental needs of preschoolers ages 3 to 5 while teaching them about nutrition, physical science, and the importance of experiencing the outdoors. They also spend a portion of the day indoors where they play, hear stories, learn their letters, participate in age appropriate experiments and do art projects. Two, three and five day morning programs are offered for children ages 3 to 5 who will be 3 years old by September 1st of the year of enrollment. The preschool is located at the South Bellevue Community Center in Bellevue, Washington.

Our students have made a smooth and successful transition back to our full outdoor preschool model! They planted lettuce starts and radish seeds in the garden, explored all of our nature areas—including the sandbox, playground, mud kitchen, and open spaces—and continued building their listening, social, and fine motor skills along the way.
