Gifford Farm provides Outdoor Education experiences to supplement school curriculum.

The road here leads to hands-on fun with science, history, wildlife, farm animals, agricultural products and adventure. Gifford Farm Education Center is located on a 400 acre working farm along the banks of the Missouri River. It provides programs on agriculture, history, science, nature, animals and team building for preschool to adult.

Meet the Animals: Goats! 🐐

Goats might seem like they're only here for snacks, but they teach us a lot. Students discover animal care, farming, and where food comes from, all thanks to these friendly faces at the fence.

A few goat facts before you visit:
🌿 They're browsers, not lawnmowers. Goats prefer nibbling leaves and shrubs, and they're picky about it.
👀 Rectangular pupils give them nearly 320 degrees of vision. It's hard to sneak past a goat.
🐐 They're social! Goats recognize faces, learn their names, and pick favorite people.
🗣️ They even have accents. Their bleats change depending on the herd they grow up with.

Be sure to say hello when you visit. Chances are, the goats will spot you first. 🌾

When students leave the classroom and step onto the farm, something changes. The lessons they've read about suddenly have a heartbeat, a smell, a texture.

We do more than teach about agriculture. Our students experience it with all their senses. They plant, feed, and explore. They ask surprising questions and remember answers without needing reminders.

This is the kind of learning that stays with them. 🌱🐴

There's a feast happening in the woods and everyone's invited! 🍂🐿️

Join us at Gifford Farm for Wild Woodsies on Monday, August 3 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Little explorers ages 3-5 (with a grown-up!) will discover where food comes from, who eats what, and who's on nature's clean-up crew. Together we'll meet the producers, consumers, and decomposers that make the forest feast possible, and learn how creatures from the tiniest insects to the biggest deer all depend on each other.

Admission is $8 per child and $7 per adult, and it includes free entry to our open-to-the-public event from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM!

Gifford Farm's Team Challenge program brings supervised group and individual activities designed to build real skills: communication, leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration. We follow the "Challenge by Choice" philosophy, which means everyone participates and everyone brings something valuable to the table.

Family fun at Gifford Farm just got easier! Grab an Open to the Public Family Pass and enjoy admission for up to five guests during our Open to the Public events throughout the 2026 season (March 23–October 30, select Mondays and Fridays from 10:00–12:00 pm).

Regular admission is $6/person, or grab a Season Pass for $40 and cover 5 guests all season long.
