In the immortal words of David Bowie - LETS DANCE! Next week is what would have been dance week on campus. Just because we are apart does not mean we can't shake a tail feather. Spend some time at home dancing to your favorite music and enjoying letting the beat move through you. From mental to physical benefits there are so many great things that happen when you move. You can't stop the beat!

If we were in school, today would have been our Pre-primary school field trip! Our plan was to visit one of our local Zoos. Since we are not able to go to the Zoo today, we wanted to share a great resource for learning about animals digitally! Below is the link to the Oregon Zoo's YouTube channel! Here, they post videos of so many exciting things! From baby goat encounters to videos of their new baby Western Pond Turtle hatchlings! I encourage you to head over to their channel and view some of these videos with your children! They are a lot of fun to watch.

FRIDAY NIGHT CAMPOUT! Since we cant currently go camping, try glamping in your living room. Pick a family activity or movie and take a night to decompress from the juggle of work week and having the kids at home to exhale together. We know that this has already been a lot of time together but it's important to remember that, when the social distancing ends, you may wish that you had enjoyed it more. Make the most of it while you can! We will see you all Monday via Zoom!

Get Creative!
There are tons of resources for easy recipes and craft projects. It might be a great opportunity to pass down one of your favorite skills to the kids or have them help out in the kitchen with your favorite recipe. Maybe play a game of Chopped Jr. Give them a few "Basket ingredients" and see where there mind takes them! Making sauces is a great place to start. For example, mixing mayonaise, mustard, hot sauce and cajun seasoning makes a great remoulade! This will let them play around with flavor (without heat or danger) and experience different cultures while staying at home. Plus you just might get something DELICIOUS out of it. Really, that remoulade is awesome.

Peek-A-Boo, we see you! On a lunch break today (if you are working from home), or maybe this evening, let everyone's inner child come out by playing a game of indoor hide and seek. Make sure to set ground rules, so it stays safe, but this will keep both mind and body engaged. If you join in you may just remember how much fun that was!
