Cadet Chelsea Curtright was announced as the winner of the LtCol Don G. Novak $2,000 scholarship last Wednesday night at the Bellevue East JROTC Scholarship Awards Night. Chelsea will attend UNO to major in Environmental Studies.

Dr Diane Marti presents the Bellevue East JROTC LtCol Don G Novak scholarship to Cadet Rachel Jabens at the annual awards ceremony tonight. Cadet Jabens plans to pursue a degree in a medical field at UNO. Congratulations!

The 2018 recipient of the $1,000 LtCol Don G. Novak AFJROTC Scholarship award is Cadet Major Lillian Gillispie. Dana Moses, granddaughter of LtCol Novak, presented the scholarship at Bellevue East High School on April 25, 2018. Cadet Major Gillispie plans to attend Lincoln Christian University and major in Nursing.

Happy Birthday, Papa Don! He would be 91 today!! We all miss him so very much. A wonderful tribute in his memory can be made by donating to the Col Don Novak Scholarship Fund. Each year, since his retirement in 1997, a scholarship has been awarded to a deserving Bellevue East ROTC student. PD loved his ROTC students!
