Beginning in 2000, BCA started to push the boundaries of early education and elementary education, settling for nothing less than a dynamic program that would inspire and foster the potential that lies within every child. We see the gifts and talents of each child. That with each gift, each child should shine. The beginnings of this mission was started by Yuka Shimizu, is now being shared with oth

er children. Year after year, we continue to grow with enrollment now reaching into the 700s and with a strong reputation. Shimizu lost his battle to the cancer, his lasting legacy was carried and continued through the children who benefit from BCA’s education. Bellevue Children’s Academy provides an educational framework that fosters the development of the whole child. The reality of our students’ future is becoming ever apparent. Our children will step into a world full of innovation and advancements. Many of the jobs our children will have in the future have not yet even been conceived. It is our job to prepare these future leaders with the skills and character to think critically, push the lines of creativity, and lead in a global society. When you step into our classrooms you will experience an environment that inspires a love of learning and aesthetically balances the learning process. A curriculum is only as strong as the teachers who facilitate the learning process, and it is our teachers that provide the cornerstone of our classrooms. We take pride in our dedicated educators who on a daily basis exhibit a passion and desire to help each child experience success. We support our students when they tackle challenges and we spark interests and delve deeper to create advanced skill sets. With each new school year we strive to provide the resources, care, motivation and complexity that generate a cutting edge education that far exceeds that of the past. It is our responsibility to bring the students the most updated innovated design of learning. After BCA education, the mission will be carried to Willows Preparatory School, our middle/high school program. It is with great confidence that we welcome you to both schools, and find joy in the opportunity to introduce you to the wonderful faculty and leadership, students and families, that make up our schools. ✨ Teacher Spotlight: Danielle Murray ✨

Meet Danielle Murray, our incredible Specialist Team Lead and K/1 Performing Arts Teacher at BCA! 🎭📚

Danielle earned her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Texas State University and holds a Theatre Teaching Certificate for Early Childhood through 12th Grade in both Texas and Washington. Before joining BCA, she spent four years at Allen’s Performing Arts Center, where she specialized in stage management and lighting design.

Since joining BCA in 2021, Danielle has brought creativity, passion, and dedication to our students every day.

⭐ Fun Fact: Danielle is a huge Disney Parks fan! Her dream is to one day visit all six Disney parks around the world. 🌎🏰

Our Pre-K students put their creativity and critical-thinking skills to work by designing machines to solve real-world community problems. Using recycled materials, they imagined, planned, built, and shared their inventions with confidence and purpose.

This hands-on project encouraged our young learners to think creatively, take action, and discover that their ideas have the power to make a difference. 🌎✨

🎧Grade 4 in action! Our students explored American migration through research, writing, and student-created podcasts, sharing powerful stories of the people who shaped our nation. From inquiry to audio production, they brought history to life.

Inside the Project:
As part of their Unit of Inquiry, Where We Are in Place and Time, Grade 4 students researched diverse migration experiences that shaped America. Working in pairs, they examined push and pull factors, adaptation, and lasting contributions, then transformed their learning into engaging 3–4 minute podcasts. Through this process, students strengthened their research, writing, collaboration, and digital literacy skills—bringing history to life through inquiry and storytelling.
