Our kindergarten students at Bellevue and Avalon celebrated a wonderful milestone yesterday with a special Kindergarten Celebration.

A big thank you to Eat'n Park for providing gift bags for our students to enjoy during the celebration. The Smiley Cookie mascot also joined us to help make the afternoon extra special.

Happy first day of kindergarten! Today, we welcomed the Class of 2039 to Northgate. We can’t wait to watch them grow and make wonderful memories along the way. Here’s to an incredible year ahead!

Odyssey of the Mind is an international, team-based creativity competition and Northgate Odyssey is the local, parent-run organization that operates this school-sponsored activity in the Northgate School District. More information can be found on our website and on the Odyssey of the Mind website.

As always we are looking for parent-volunteers to serve as coaches at all grade levels. Remember, teams are capped at 7 students, so we can run only as many teams as we have coaches. Please spread the word to help us find coaches.

Attention 7th and 8th graders: Interested in playing football? We encourage you to come to the locker room after school. Practice is from 3:30-5:30 p.m. All are welcome. No experience necessary!

Summer may be coming to an end, but the fun isn’t over yet! Avalon Elementary kicked off the new school year with its annual Welcome Back Water Games.

Arts Greenhouse presents Debate and Create; a fall 2026 afterschool program for Northgate students in grades 5-8.

The 2026 Official Northgate Back-to-School Spirit Store is now open! Show your Northgate pride with official spirit wear for the new school year. The store is open from August 13 through September 3, 2026. All orders will be delivered on September 24, 2026.

Happening Friday: Highmark Wholecare is hosting a Free Farmer’s Market Series to bring fresh produce to the community. In partnership with AHN Suburban General and the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, these events provide locally sourced fruits and vegetables at no cost.

The market will be held at AHN Suburban, Parking Lot B3 from 12-4 p.m. We hope to see you there!
