🦅 𝐁𝐄𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐔𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐅 𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐓𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 | 𝐌𝐑𝐒. 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐍 🦅

Bellevue Media Team member 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐲𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 sat down with 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧 to learn more about the person behind the classroom.

For Mrs. Blackburn, teaching at Bellevue is about much more than lessons and assignments.

Her philosophy starts with something simple:

❤️ “𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞.”

Teaching her own children has required an adjustment as she learns to balance being both 𝐌𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫, but it has also made her time at Bellevue even more meaningful.

Mrs. Blackburn says she feels blessed to work at a school where faith can be shared while still respecting the beliefs of others. And if there is one piece of advice she hopes her students remember, it’s this:

Before becoming an English teacher, Mrs. Blackburn worked as a news writer — a career that sometimes challenged the introvert in her. Teaching, however, gave her something different: the opportunity to directly impact the lives of her students.

Our first home game is coming soon! Our beautiful floor is wrapping up and the gym looks amazing!

We are doing a drawing for not just 1 set of seats BUT 2 sets of seats, your pick (with a couple restrictions).

You will get to pick 2 seat to have RESERVED at every home athletic event for this years sports!
We will have reserved displayed on the seats to guarantee the perfect view for all the action to take place on the new floor.

For Mrs. McCugh, Bellevue isn’t just where she teaches — 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞. ❤️

𝐀 𝟐𝟎𝟎𝟐 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐮𝐞 𝐈𝐒𝐃 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞, Mrs. McCugh grew up in the community she now serves. She is entering her 𝐬𝐢𝐱𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐮𝐞, teaching secondary social studies.

What makes a small school special to her? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬.

She loves getting to know her students and their families, relating to the small-school experience, and having the opportunity to watch students grow up.

When asked to describe Bellevue in just one word, Mrs. McCugh didn't hesitate:

❤️ “𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥.”

Coming from someone who grew up here, graduated here, and has now returned to help teach the next generation of Eagles, that word carries a little extra meaning.

☀️📚 Today, we celebrated our Summer Learning Challenge students with a fun-filled field trip! These students worked hard to keep their minds active and continue learning throughout the summer, and we are so proud of them!

Their day included donuts and feeding the prairie dogs at Kiwanis Park, followed by lots of fun at Jellystone Park. What a great way to celebrate their dedication and hard work! 🍩🍕💦

🦅 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐓 𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄 𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐀𝐆𝐋𝐄 🦅

We asked our 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦, made up of Bellevue students, to capture images that show what it means to be an Eagle and help tell the story of 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞.

They didn’t disappoint.

These photos are more than just snapshots. They capture the people, the moments, the pride, and the little things that make 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥.

Our students were given a camera and a challenge: 𝐓𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.

We think they did an amazing job. 🦅

The 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 is getting to know the people who make our school special! Media Team member 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 sat down with 𝐌𝐫𝐬. 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐤 for our latest Staff Spotlight!

📚 Mrs. Burk teaches 𝟔𝐭𝐡-𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐠𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚 𝐈 and says her own 4th grade math teacher helped inspire her to become an educator.

One of her favorite things about Bellevue?

❤️ “𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲.”

Mrs. Burk says she loves teaching at a small school and wouldn't want it any other way. Even though teaching multiple grade levels can be time-consuming, she says she'd be bored if she didn't!

Before becoming a teacher, Mrs. Burk earned a bachelor's degree in business, but ultimately found where she belongs:
