Newport Students & Families,
The holiday season is approaching. We are so lucky in Bellevue to experience this and have the luxury of the holiday season. However, just 3 hours away lies a community, where families are struggling to make ends meet. The children in these families suffer from extreme needs and even homelessness. A couple of other students at Newport and I want to change their experience this holiday season, making this Christmas like one that they have never had before. What we plan to do this holiday season is give each child meaningful gifts. Looking at the wishlist, I see gifts that are nothing like that of Bellevue kids, including myself. Instead of an Xbox one, or new ultra sound speaker, I see these kids asking for Walmart gift cards, straight talk minutes so they can talk to family in distant locations, and basic amenities like shoes and shirts. This Christmas, you can help us make a difference by donating to our GO fund me at www.gofundme.com/HappyHolidayProgram to truly make this Christmas one those kids will never forget.
Thank you for taking time to read about this, and I hope you'll help us make this Christmas one that the kids have never experienced before.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Susanna Sovde. We would also love toys/puzzles or any other gifts you’re willing to donate. We can even send someone to your home to pick them up.
Thank you so much,
Newport DECA

Here in Bellevue we do not experience this first had, but other communities in Washington State do. My name is Avery English and I...
