The Lord is not merely wishing good things for you. He is actively blessing you every day through his powerful Word. In Christ, your sins are fully forgiven, God’s face shines on you with grace, and you stand at peace with him because Jesus lived, died, and rose for you. So when you hear the Lord’s blessing, remember that this is not empty tradition or hopeful thinking. This is your faithful God promising that he will keep you, care for you, and work all things for your good as his baptized child.

So many people spend their lives searching for purpose, wondering where they fit and what they are supposed to do, but God already answers that question for you in his Word. In Christ, you already have everything you need, because Jesus fulfilled his purpose perfectly by living, dying, and rising again to save you by grace alone, and through faith in him you are forgiven, loved, and given eternal hope. Now, as people who belong to Jesus, you get to live with purpose each day by serving the people God has placed around you and by sharing the hope of the gospel, trusting that God is the one working through you.

Jesus tells you, “If you love me, keep my commands,” and that love is not about earning God’s favor. Christ loved you first by giving himself for your sins, and through faith in him alone you are forgiven, saved, and made God’s child entirely by grace. Because the Holy Spirit lives with you and strengthens you each day, your life begins to show that love toward others, and people can see in your words and actions that you belong to Jesus.
