Meet BelRed Arts Studio resident artist Ebba Johnson! Ebba started making ceramics in 2021 and hasn’t stopped since. Now a full-time artist, they’ve created a pottery world filled with whimsical characters, silly slogans, and functional objects. Artwork unveiled! ♻️ After spending three months at the BelRed Arts Studio as our first paid artist-in-residence, Bellevue artist Fred Lisaius ( ) hosted a community workshop and revealed a completed a 3-foot sculpture created out of dozens of recycled materials encased in resin . He created 16-24 inclusions made to look like bugs, found objects and plants - a statement about our environment today and the need to treat our planet better for future generations. Meet Salmon Woman: a cast bronze sculpture by Tom Jay located at Bellevue’s Highland Community Center.
Commissioned in 1991 by the City Of Bellevue / City of Bellevue Arts Program, this piece honors the Suquamish, Snoqualmie, and Duwamish peoples who lived on this land long before the city existed.
