We had such fun gathering as a class in September of 2022 for our 50-year reunion. We plan to return to Fiddler’s Inn Saturday, September 7th, 2024 from 2–5 pm. No charge, and no host. Fiddlers has great food and, of course, plenty of drinks available for purchase.

So, grab your friends and plan to meet up at the Fid! Thanks to Gail Carlson Manahan for, once again, arranging this. Fiddlers has a lovely patio and indoor space. Accessible, too.

Fiddler’s Inn is located on the corner of NE 94th and 35th Ave NE, just North of Wedgwood. 9219 - 35th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98115.

Julie Sorensen Tonning and I enjoyed lunch at Carmine’s in Bellevue yesterday. Julie brought Terry Carrig along with her, in spirit. Terry, Julie and I used to meet for lunch at Carmines about 3 times per year. We always enjoyed a glass of red wine and oh so many stories. We love the friendship we cultivated as adults, not just as former classmates living out our high school memories. We miss you, Terry. — with Julie Sorensen Tonning and Terry Carrig.

Lots of activities planned surrounding our reunion this weekend!

1) Friday AM, Sept 16 - Golf at Fairwood Golf and Country Club, Renton. Tee times required….please contact me via Messenger if you have not already reached out to me about golf.

2) Nathan Hale vs Ingraham Football Game, at Hale’s football field. 7 pm Friday. September 16.

3) Nathan Hale High School Tour, provided by Archive Specialist, Tina Tudor and Project Manager Earl Edwards, hosted by Julie Sorensen Tonning? Meet at teacher/visitor parking lot. Saturday, September 17, 10:30 am. Cruise-in at Dick’s Drive In, Lake City, to follow.

4) Class of ‘71, 50+1 Reunion, Queen City Yacht Club, Seattle. Lots of fun planned for this evening. Reservations required. Please contact me via Messenger if you have not already registered. Saturday, September 17, 6 pm.

5) Pickleball! East Greenlake Courts, across parking lot from Evans Pool. Sunday, September 18, 12 noon - 2 pm. Courts reserved. We will have a few extra paddles and balls.

Class of 1971…..please join us for a round of golf the day before our 50+1 reunion!

Hey, Raiders….Class of ‘71!

We are excited to see continued registrations come through for our reunion at Queen City Yacht Club. We have a great turnout, but it won’t be the same without those of you who have not yet registered. Reunion begins at 6 p.m., with time to visit with friends over reasonably priced wine, beer, cocktails and soft drinks. Some memorabilia has been gathered, and one of our classmates, Bob Young, has put together quite a remarkable “in Memoriam” book.

Dinner will be scrumptious, and includes salmon, chicken piccata, roasted veggies, Caesar Salad, and dessert.

Music will be provided by Desolation Sounds, managed by Nathan Hale Class of 69 alumnus, Chuck Gould.

Our very own Senior Class Prez, Ian McIlraith, will MC our event alongside Susan Lowman Robinson. These two have a fun program in store for us!

Julie Sorensen Tonning has arranged a tour of the remodeled Nathan Hale, including a tour of the first-class radio station, KNHC, which recently turned 50! Tour participants will gather in the teachers/visitors parking lot at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept 17. Cruise on over to Lake City Dick’s following the tour! Memories will begin flooding back.

The morning before the reunion, Glen Widener and Wendy Whitaker Taylor are planning a round of golf for those who are interested. Please reach out to Wendy by text at (206) 355-1474 or email at [email protected] if you are interested in playing golf Friday.

September 17, 2022 is fast approaching! Just 6 weeks until our 50+1 reunion! Registration has been going well, with 108 registered to date. We have lots of fun in store for you as you rekindle friendships and make new memories.

Our Class Prez, Ian McIlraith, along with Susan Lowman Robinson will co-MC our event. Live music will be provided by Chuck Gould (Class of 69), and his band, Desolation Sounds.

If you need assistance to help defray the cost of your ticket. Please log onto VarsityReunions.com. There is a fund set to help classmates who would otherwise not be able to attend.

A school tour will be held the morning of the Reunion, at 10:30, followed by a cruise-in at Dick’s, Lake City. Gather in teachers/visitors parking area. If you haven’t seen the radio station since we were at Hale, you will be amazed!

Rounds of golf Friday morning, September 16th, are being arranged. Please contact Glen Widener if you are interested in golf.
