🦁 So Proud of Our 8th Grade Lions! 🦁

A special Zion tradition and we absolutely love it! Each year, our 8th graders lead our Lion’s Way Stations, creating boards and activities to teach and remind our younger Lions what it means to be a Zion Lion.

They talk about how we act, how we present ourselves at school, the “rules of the way,” and what makes our Zion community so special.💙🦁

This is such a meaningful opportunity for our 8th graders to step into leadership, share their wisdom, and be positive examples for the students who look up to them. It’s also a wonderful way for our school community to connect across grade levels and remind us all of what it means to be part of the Zion family.

Our 8th grade Lions did an amazing job! We are so proud of the leaders they are becoming and the example they are setting for our entire school. 💙🦁

FRIENDLY REMINDER!

Zion Lutheran School will not have school Friday, September 4th due to Teacher Professional Development Day.

There will also be NO SCHOOL on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

➕🎲 Who said practicing math facts can’t be fun?! 🎲➕

Students in Mrs. Ill’s first grade had a blast practicing addition facts with a fun math game! They rolled two dice, added the numbers together, and then covered the corresponding answers to reveal a picture.

Learning + teamwork + a little fun = a great way to practice! ❤️🦁

Today, we had the privilege of joining the Belleville community in honoring and remembering Belleville’s Chief of Police Matthew Eiskant.

As the funeral procession passed Zion Lutheran School, our students, faculty, and staff gathered along Carlyle Avenue for a quiet and respectful tribute. It was a meaningful opportunity to show our gratitude and respect for his service to our community and to stand in support of his family, friends, fellow officers, and the entire Belleville Police Department.

Moments like these remind us that we are part of something larger than ourselves, a community called to show compassion, gratitude, respect, and love for our neighbors.

We continue to lift the Chief’s family, friends, the Belleville Police Department, and all who are grieving in our prayers. We especially hold close those within our own school community who are mourning this tremendous loss.

May we never take for granted those who dedicate their lives to serving and protecting our community. 🤍💙🖤
