We're dedicated to the advocating for the medical imaging and radiation therapy profession. The Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists (ISSRT) is committed to providing educational and networking opportunities to its members and others interested in the radiologic technology profession. We provide access to information on ISSRT, its programs, and services. In addition, we provide information pertaining to legislative issues as well as scholarship and career opportunities.

We’re excited to highlight Peter Juodka as part of the ISSRT Northern Region Fall CE Event!

A proud College of DuPage Radiography graduate, Class of 2010, Peter brings more than 15 years of radiologic imaging experience to his session. His background includes diagnostic X-ray, CT, PACS, applications, and technical leadership, and he currently serves as a Technical Coordinator.

Peter will present: Mobile Stroke Unit: Where CT Meets the Road

This session will give attendees an inside look at stroke imaging and treatment, the Mobile Stroke Unit, stroke response workflows, unit operations, interventions, and real-world patient cases. If you’re interested in CT, emergent imaging, or seeing radiologic technology in action beyond the traditional department setting, you won’t want to miss it.

We're excited to welcome longtime ISSRT member, educator, and former ISSRT Treasurer Sue Bertellotti to the Northern Region Fall CE Event!

With more than two decades of experience in radiologic sciences, Sue has served as a clinical instructor, radiography faculty member and clinical coordinator, and Mammography Program Coordinator. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about mentoring students and technologists and helping them grow into confident, capable professionals.

At our Fall CE Event, Sue will present: Shaping the Next Generation - The Journey to Clinical Instructor.

The ASRT SLDP gives imaging sciences students an opportunity to grow as future leaders in the profession while making connections that extend beyond the classroom.

Through the SLDP, selected students can:
✨ Develop leadership skills
🤝 Network with students and imaging professionals from across the country
💡 Become more involved in the profession
🏛️ Experience ASRT professional governance firsthand

Eligibility: Applicants must be currently enrolled in an imaging sciences program and be current members of both the ASRT and ISSRT.

Today is the National Radiologic Technologist Day of Action.

The ISSRT encourages Illinois medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals, students, educators, and supporters to join colleagues across the country in making their voices heard.

August 13 marks the 45th anniversary of the Consumer-Patient Radiation Health and Safety Act. While progress has been made, many states still do not require nationally recognized education, training, and competency standards for individuals performing medical imaging and radiation therapy procedures.

Today is an opportunity for our profession to be seen, heard, and known. By taking action, you can help educate policymakers about the essential role qualified professionals play in providing safe, high-quality patient care.

The ISSRT is seeking three speakers for a virtual continuing education event celebrating National Radiologic Technology Week® on Wednesday, November 11 from 6:00-9:00 pm CST.

This year’s theme, “Radiating Love,” recognizes the compassion, dedication and commitment medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals bring to patient care and safety every day.

We welcome presentation proposals related to radiologic sciences, including topics that highlight:

• Compassionate and patient-centered care
• Professional dedication, resilience or well-being
• Patient and workplace safety

🎙️ Congratulations to Student Leadership Development Program (SLDP) participant Alexis Juveland on the release of her first ASRT-Beam the Way podcast episode!

Join Alexis Juveland and her co-host, Asa, as they share their experiences as radiography students and discuss what it's like to begin a career in the medical imaging profession. From navigating school to preparing for clinical practice, this conversation offers valuable insight for current and future radiologic technologists.

Alexis is a second-year radiography student at the College of DuPage completing her clinical education at Good Samaritan Hospital.
