Thank you to all those who sponsored, participated, hosted and supported the Barnyard Golf Fundraiser this past weekend! Money raised goes to support the St. Clair County Farm Bureau Foundation including Ag in the Classroom! We are forever blessed with giving individuals who help our programs thrive!
At the fundraiser, ag in the classroom had a “thank a teacher” basket raffle item. Individuals can pay for tickets as a chance to win a basket of classroom goodies for a teacher! Don’t know who to choose? No worries! You could pick a town and our AITC staff will work with the winner on finding a teacher in that town to thank with the items!
This year the Martin Family won and gave the basket to their teachers at St. Libory! Thank you to all those who support AITC!🎉🤩

Congratulations to St. Clair County’s very own Scott Obernuefemann on receiving one of the Volunteer of the Year Awards from Illinois Ag in the Classroom!
Yesterday Scott received his award at the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
Scott is always looking for creative and meaningful ways to educate youth about agriculture, while giving back to Agriculture in the Classroom. His enthusiasm and initiative has made him a standout supporter of our program!
⛳️At our annual Barnyard Golf Fundraiser, Scott didn’t just host a hole—he went above and beyond. While most hole hosts offer a small snack or beverage for purchase, Scott set up a full spread of multiple items for golfers to buy, with every dollar donated back to support St. Clair County Ag in the Classroom programming. To maximize awareness, he also requested AITC posters and educational materials to be displayed at his hole, ensuring that golfers walked away with a better understanding of our mission as well as a fun experience.
🚜Scott also plays a major role in community outreach at the annual Touch-a-Truck event in O’Fallon, which draws more than 300 attendees. Not only did he bring his combine for children and families to explore, but he also made sure Agriculture in the Classroom was represented alongside him. Together, we shared the message of agriculture with attendees, passing out goodie bags filled with Build-Your-Own Tractor kits, Ag Mags, and other educational resources. His efforts turned a fun community day into a valuable opportunity for agricultural education.
💡Beyond events, Scott’s impact continues as a dedicated member of our AITC Coalition. He has been instrumental in sharing ideas and brainstorming new ways to expand programming.
Thanks to Scott’s leadership and generosity more students, families, and community members are gaining a better understanding of the importance of agriculture!🌾🐄
