Humpback whale released after spectacular rescue effort found dead off Denmark Authorities say a humpback whale found dead this week off a Danish island has been identified as the animal released two weeks ago in a spectacular and contentious rescue effort.

The annual Belleville East High School German Honor Society dinner took place last night at Bellecourt Manor. Congratulations to all the students who were honored and to the new Delta Epsilon Phi inductees! Vielen Dank also to Tim Faltus at Bellecourt for one last amazing German buffet!

Belleville East German Honor Society members performed community service this weekend, first mulching fruit trees at the Belleville Heart Garden on Saturday, and then doing some gardening, digging, and moving bricks at the Gustave Koerner House on Sunday.

Congratulations to the Belleville East participants at SIUE German Day today. Our advanced trivia team won first place and our spelling bee team was second place today competing against teams from eight other Metro East high schools! Students also created and performed a skit, learned German folk dancing, games and crafts. Thank you SIUE for hosting 🇩🇪!!!

German Club members enjoyed a traditional German breakfast and played some bingo before school on Friday.
