Bittersweet news to report from Evan Makes Music! After nearly twenty years at Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Garfield, this weekend is my last weekend as Music Director there. I'll still be there on Saturday evenings to play the 5pm mass while they look for a permanent replacement, but from now on my Sundays will be spent at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Park Ridge! I'm grateful for many joyful years of music making at Mt. Virgin, excited about the new opportunity and can't wait to start, while also feeling bittersweet about leaving my long-time "home base."
In other news - I have taken and officially passed the Music Content Knowledge Praxis, meaning I will also be looking to become a classroom music teacher in this new year! Big career changes, but as always, I'll be making music everywhere.
If you'd like to see me make some more music, come check out Pascack Hills Players production of the Addams Family this Spring! I'm choral directing and playing Key 1 in the pit (with my buddy Joe Christianson conducting!) I'll be sure to post ticket links as soon as they're available.
