SEPTEMBER 11 MEMORIAL - Several students from our older grades participated today in the 9/11 Memorial Service, at the invitation of the Township of Belleville. Our pastor, Fr. Ivan Sciberras, led the participants in an open invocation. Speeches were delivered by several dignitaries, including our Mayor, Frank Velez. BFD Chief John Olivieri spoke about his experience as a young firefighter 25 years ago. Three of our students placed a bouquet of flowers at the flagpoles dedicated to the three Belleville residents who lost their lives on that fateful day. At the end our students sang God Bless America, under the direction of Fr. David Hinojosa.

STAR-SPANGLED BANNER AT HALF-MAST TODAY - As Fr. David was replacing our American flag this morning with one that had graced the Belleville 9/11 Memorial during 2024, St. Peter School students on their way to school stopped to give him a hand and then also recite the Pledge of Allegiance. They were also told the reason why the flag is flown half-mast on a day of mourning like today. The flag currently flown in front of our Church was donated to our pastor, Fr. Ivan, by BPD Captain Frank Pignataro and Councilman Vinnie Cozzarelli at the 2024 September 11 commemoration (see last photo from our archives).

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS SCHOOL SUPPLY DONATION - We are immensely grateful to Belleville Council 835 for their school supply donation to St. Peter School. We look forward to many years of collaboration between the Council and the School in the service of the Gospel. Vivat Jesus!

ST. PETER SCHOOL OPENING DAY AND MASS FOR THE BLESSED MOTHER - Our students and staff were greeted at the steps of the Church this morning by Belleville Mayor Frank Velez and by our pastor, Fr. Ivan, as they began the school year participating at Holy Mass for the Feast of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Parents still unsure if they wish to offer a quality Catholic education to their children (K-8) can consider registering them this week at St. Peter School. Please call our school office (973-759-3103) as soon as possible to complete the registration process, or speak with Fr. Ivan if seeking a partial scholarship.

OPENING SCHOOL YEAR MASS - All our welcome to join the St. Peter School Community for the opening of the school year Mass, to be celebrated at 8:30AM on our first day of school - Tuesday September 8th - Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (pictures are from last year's Opening of the School Year Mass).

NEW TEACHERS BUSY AT WORK - While St. Peter School will not open its doors for students (K-8) till Tuesday, some of our new teachers were busy this morning getting their classrooms and hallways ready for the upcoming school year. ST. PETER SCHOOL - Especially if you are new to the area and still undecided where to register your children, give us a call. Our Catholic School has vacancies from Kindergarten till 8th Grade. Classes begin Tuesday September 8, with the School community participating at the Mass for the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

ONE FACE OF ST. PETER SCHOOL - Come September, one of the first faces St. Peter School students will see as they arrive for classes in the morning will be Fr. David Hinojosa's. Rain or shine, he is in front of the school to greet our students and those who drop them off practically every morning. We are grateful that Fr. David has just started his fifth year with us as priest at St. Peter, and are even more thankful that he will be here next month to help us all usher in the school year. On this commemoration of St. John Vianney, patron saint of all parish priests, please pray that he will continue to be zealous in the transmission of the Faith, especially to St. Peter School students and their families.
