For the first time ever, you can take our ASL 1 (SLS 101) and Fingerspelling & Numbers (SLS 125) courses through SWIC Community Education!
That means you can experience the same immersive classes, learn from Deaf instructors, and build real ASL skills—without enrolling for college credit.
+ Same college classroom experience
+ Reduced Community Education tuition
+ Open to anyone who wants to learn!
SLS 101 – ASL 1
📅 16-week course (meets twice each week)
SLS 125 – Fingerspelling & Numbers
📅 8-week course

What a weekend! We’re still recovering, but we had an amazing time at Silent Weekend - making memories, new friends, and sharing lots of laughs. 🤟
Huge thanks to Warren “Wawa” Snipe for bringing your incredible energy and talent to this year’s event!
Thank you to our awesome counselors, volunteers, and Sign Club officers who worked so hard to make it all happen.

UPDATE: The monkeys and goat have finally been located! 🐒🐐
And somehow… they’ve been learning sign language here at Southwestern Illinois College?? They’re preparing for a press conference to explain everything. We expect answers.
In the meantime, YOU can start learning too!!
