Yesterday, the Bellefonte Area School District met for Opening Day for the 2026-2027 school year! The staff listened to keynote speaker, Mr. David Edward Garcia, who spoke about showing up and showing love for our students. The district also completed safety training and administrators spoke to their building staff about preparations for the upcoming school year. Lastly, teachers participated in a Back to School Sign activity. September 1st will be here soon!

Last night, the Bellefonte Area School District celebrated the Grand Opening of their new elementary school - Bellefonte Elementary! The event was filled with music, performances, exceptional speeches, and the self tour of a beautiful new building!

Thank you to everyone that made this event possible! And thank you to the community for showing up! It was so great to share this building with you all!

Dear Parents,

We are excited about the upcoming Bellefonte Elementary School Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting event on Wednesday, August 12 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. We hope to see you there!

Please know that parking at the school is extremely limited. It is highly recommended that you park at one of the following locations:

Governor's Park near the pool and baseball field. This is within walking distance to the school.

Bellefonte Area High School - shuttle bus service will be provided before and after the event starting at 5:00 pm. The bus will stop at the BAHS main entrance and the theater entrance.

Mount Nittany Health (across the street from BAHS) - shuttle bus service will be provided before and after the event starting at 5:00 pm.

Remarks and Ribbon Cutting will begin at 6:00 pm, followed by an Open House to showcase our beautiful new school.
