For every performer who has ever felt “not good enough” 💛

🎵 Whether you’re preparing for your first audition, building a professional career, or discovering that your path is taking you somewhere completely different, this is for you.

Creating a life in the performing arts can make us feel like we always have to do more. Practice more. Say yes more. Prove ourselves more. Sacrifice MORE.

🎭 Work hard. Be kind. Show up prepared. Of course we know that.

But never confuse dedication with losing your values 🚫

Your worth isn’t measured by how much you struggle or how much of yourself you’re willing to give away.

✨The right people will respect your boundaries.
✨The right opportunities will value your work.
✨And the right path will never ask you to stop being yourself to deserve a place on it.

Save this for the days you need the reminder, or share it to a friend who might need it too. 🫶🏼

Another NATS National Conference in the books! 🎵 ➡️

(You’re going to want to hear the last slide 👀)

I couldn’t be more proud of these two girls. To make the top 15 in the nation in the SAME category? AND be best friends? What a special experience together. 🫶🏼

Addy and Emily both made top 15 in Lower High School Musical Theatre, and Addy made top 15 in Lower High School Commercial Music! 🎵

And of course a huge thank you to the best collaborative pianist there is, Nick Klein, DMA - Voice Teacher 🎹

The Ped Ladies take San Antonio! 💕

I’m so honored to be able to present along side these amazing colleagues and friends that I admire so much!

Were you at the conference and you had to miss our chat all about scaling your voice studio? Reach out and let me know and I’d be happy to share our materials with you!

We have 2 more National titles to add this year! 🏆

An enormous congratulations to Addy for taking home FIRST in Lower High School Musical Theatre and THIRD in Commercial Music! 🎵

Your hard work never ceases to amaze me Addison Wynkoop | singer and actress | !

Some wonderful friends and colleagues I was able to see while in San Antonio! (And many I just don’t have photos with!)

The weekend went by in a flash, but I’m so glad I was able to connect with so many of you! 🫶🏼

We did have SOME time in all of the chaos to explore San Antonio, it’s such a beautiful city. 🏙️🎆

i’m so grateful for my time at this year’s Official NATS national conference, and can’t wait to see everyone again in 2028 a little closer to home in Baltimore! 🎵

🔊 Literally the first student of the night in commercial music sang THIS.

When this ELEMENTARY school student announced they would be singing “Emotion” I thought “surely that can’t be the Emotion I’m thinking of” - it sure was. 🤯

Share them with someone you needs it 🫶🏼

A little reminder for the next time you put yourself out there. 🎵

Whether you’re auditioning for a show, singing at karaoke for the first time, performing on stage, or simply sharing your voice in front of other people, remember:

🗣️ Your voice is powerful, even when it’s soft.
🎶 Your voice is worthy, even when it’s tired.
💛 Your voice deserves care, rest, and love.

How will you show your voice a little bit of extra love today? 🫶🏼🎵

Save this for the next time you need a little reminder ❤️

Voice feeling off? Put down Google and read this. ⤵️

We’ve all been there.

One day your voice feels a little different and suddenly you’re Googling:

😅 “What does laryngitis feel like?”
😰 “How do I know if I have a vocal injury?”
🫨 “Do I have vocal nodules?!”

Before you spiral...
Close the Google machine. Take a deep breath. 💨
Then call a voice professional.

Symptoms like hoarseness, vocal fatigue, discomfort, loss of range, or changes in your voice can all have MANY different causes. The only way to know what’s actually going on is to have your vocal folds evaluated.

🩺 In a perfect world, every singer would be seen by a fellowship-trained laryngologist (a physician who specializes specifically in the voice). Since there are only a little over 500 in the U.S., that isn’t always realistic.

1️⃣ A great first step is checking the American Laryngological Association’s provider directory to see if there’s a laryngologist near you.

If there isn’t, don’t panic. I’d always rather you be seen than not, so scheduling an appointment with your local ENT is a great place to start. From there, you can decide if you’d like to pursue a second opinion with a voice specialist.

📣 This is also one of the biggest benefits of working with a voice care team.

As a Singing Voice Rehabilitation Specialist, I work alongside laryngologists and speech-language pathologists to help singers navigate the next steps after a voice concern and refer out to get you seen sooner rather than later.

Whether that’s finding the right medical provider or safely returning to singing, you don’t have to figure it out alone. 🫶🏼

🎤 If you’re not sure where to start, send me a DM. I’d be happy to help point you in the right direction.

And remember: Google can give you possibilities, but only a scope gives you answers. 💛
