Yesterday we released the tadpoles! 🐸🌿

It’s been so much fun watching them grow over the past month. From tiny little swimmers to tadpoles with legs, getting to see part of their transformation up close has been pretty amazing. While they’re not fully frogs yet, many were ready to head back to their natural habitat and continue the journey.

Such a cool little reminder of how incredible nature really is. 💚

Thank you, Dance Fuzion Studio , for an amazing experience yesterday! Our students absolutely loved dancing with you, following the moves, dancing to the beat, having fun, and even creating their own moves along the way. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of the year and such a fantastic choice for our final speaker of the year! 💃🏽🕺🏼🎶

We kicked off our butterfly unit in science today!

Students had the opportunity to explore literature and discover facts about butterflies independently, which sparked lots of curiosity and great discussions. We also read Butterfly Lifecycle and learned about each stage of a butterfly’s development. To wrap up, students completed an activity where they identified and wrote out each step of the lifecycle. We’re excited to continue building on this learning in the days ahead! 🦋

Yesterday, our students had a special visit from Jess Rolfes, CNP who shared insight into her daily work at Mary Rutan Pediatrics. She brought goodie bags with real materials she uses, giving students the opportunity to explore the items and learn what they are used for. The experience sparked a lot of excitement. Students continued engaging in imaginative doctor play during makerspace and even at dismissal. It was wonderful to see them making real life connections and using their creativity in such a meaningful way!🩺👩🏻‍⚕️👨🏽‍⚕️

5 year olds learning as 7 and 8 year olds is so concerning!

Your child will be assigned a Chromebook when they enter Kindergarten.
It will, most likely, stay at the school but they will use it for more than technology class. They will use it for assessments and skills practice- often linked to those assessments.
It doesn't matter what the research says.
It doesn't matter that there is an alarming number of experts warning us about the overuse of technology for young brains, eyes and muscles for fine motor.
Your five year old will be assigned a chromebook. He will spend more time during the day on that chromebook than he will in outdoor free play.

Want something different? You, as a parent, have to make a choice. Are you okay with the overuse of technology or do you want something different for your child?

At Peak Learning, we have a "no technology" clause. We follow the research and we offer an education that is rich in project based, hands on and collaborative learning.
