The MRESC serves schools in Hardin, Logan and Shelby County. Our main office is in Bellefontaine. We also have an office at 129 East Court St. Sidney, OH.

At the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center we partner with school districts to improve outcomes for students and families with innovative, specialized services and programs at reasonable costs. In addition to our Bellefontaine main office, we also have a location at 129 East Court St. Sidney, OH 45365.

What a great turn out for our 2026 Bus Driving Training that happened last Thursday! 🚌

We had about 250 bus and van drivers getting their certification renewed from Allen, Auglaize, Hardin, Logan, Miami, and Shelby County!

Big thank you to Sidney City Schools for their facilities for the training and being great partners in this big day!

Thank you to all the presenters including North Coast Shared Services Alliance, Ohio School Safety Center, Shelby County Health Department and our sponsors Cardinal Bus Sales and Service Inc. and Peacock Water for providing equipment and water!

We’ve had an incredible week of summer professional development for teachers and staff! ☀️📚
We kicked things off with our IMSE Morphology+ Training, bringing together 41 educators from across the region for a full week to strengthen their literacy instruction skills . A huge thank you to Aaron Franklin Jr., who led this engaging and impactful training as an IMSE Master Instructor!
We’re grateful for the dedication of educators who continue learning and growing to better support students. Stay tuned—more summer professional development highlights are coming tomorrow! 🎉

Ms. Leanna Nease’s middle school MRESC unit classroom at Benjamin Logan Local School District visited Otherworld in Columbus on Wednesday, 5/6/2026!

Students interactively explored the immersive art showcased throughout the experience. They crawled through tunnels, swung in chairs, and discovered k***s and buttons that brought the art to life. 🎨✨

The students had a really great time learning about art in a whole new way!

The 2026 Excellence in Education Award winners were presented at the Monday, May 4, 2026, noon luncheon of the Rotary Club of Sidney, OH, held at The Cornerstone, at the Upper Valley Career Center.

This award, a collaborative effort between Sidney Rotary and the Midwest Regional Educational Service Center, formally recognized our 2026 winners: Jeffrey Bertke (Upper Valley Career Center), Jana Salisbury (Russia Local School), and Judy Eshleman (Anna Elementary). 👏

This is not another “Teacher of the Year” award; it is, instead, an opportunity to recognize and honor Shelby County teachers who consistently go above and beyond not only in the school building, but also outside the classroom, powerfully impacting their students, the community, and the educational profession Nominators can be peers, administrators, parents or students (current or former) of the educator.

The Rotary Club hosted the award winners, family members, and their nominators for a recognition ceremony and lunch. Each winner was introduced with a short bio, and the winners and their guests were invited to share a few words with those in attendance and received the Excellence in Education Award. Big congratulations again to these educators! 🎉

Mrs. Katelyne Bleininger, teacher of our MRESC Unit Classroom at Benjamin Logan Local School District organized a field trip to Young's Jersey Dairyin Springfield on Friday, May 1st.

Although a little chilly & damp, they all enjoyed a tour of Young's Dairy which included a carousel ride, wagon ride, petting the goats & calves, along with learning all about milk, ice cream, and cheese products.

The Young's Dairy staff were so nice to work with and the students and staff had a wonderful time learning

What a great meeting at the West Central Ohio Career Network! 👏

We had special guests from Ohio Hi-Point Career Center sharing their incredible career exploration kits designed for K–7 students. These hands-on tools introduce kids to a variety of career paths in a fun and engaging way—and even better, when they visit classrooms, it’s their students leading the experience!

Today, we got a look at the 2nd Grade Health Careers Academy and stepped into the role of a doctor 🩺—such a fun and impactful way to spark early career interest!

The The WCO Career Network Coordinators work with Hancock/Hardin/Logan/ Shelby county partner schools to increase the number of young people who complete high school, attain a valued post-secondary labor market credential, and launch into a stable and satisfying career.

A big thank you to Team Honda and Honda Heritage Center for hosting the 38th Academic Achievement Breakfast! 🎉

Thank you to all Logan County schools for joining us to celebrate so many outstanding students.

We were honored to have Matthew Baird as our guest speaker. As a Ben Logan alumnus employed at Honda Development and Manufacturing of America, he shared encouraging words with students about facing challenges in whatever workforce or career path they choose, and how perseverance can help them continue to succeed.

Most importantly, congratulations to all of the amazing students recognized today for their hard work and academic achievements this year! 👏📚
