Journey Nature School Journey Nature School is a nature immersive child-centered educational experience for families.

Journey Nature School (JNS) is a secular, globally minded, and nature immersive preschool alternative and homeschool supplement for children ages 4-9 years old. Foundational Philosophies: Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Forest Kindergarten, and International Baccalaureate (IB). Seasonal Enrollment: Fall, Winter, Spring Quarters with 2 and 3 Day options.

☀️Our July camp is packed with self-reflection for the kids who come and, rest assured, the children are not the only ones learning. They are the embodiment of teacher and student in one.

They ask themselves “who am I?” & “how do I express myself?” over the course of our time together.

From finding characters to pretend to be while playing with friends, creating their own face paints, moving their bodies, drafting plays with friends, exploring materials, changing parts of their environment, interacting with critters, writing stories, comparing heights, to establishing a stronger sense of self independent of and within a community, this is a camp with lasting impact. 🫶

The close of our July camp today is bittersweet and we look forward to the friends we will see in August as we close out the summer season with 2 weeks of camp.

Our 5 day week of Summer Camp kicked off yesterday at Kirkmont Center and it was a BLAST.

Nothing is sweeter than new friends, big adventures, and the great outdoors with self-reflection along the way ☺️☀️

During our 3 weeks of June Summer camp, our pals at The Fun Company shared with us an amazing opportunity to watch 10 caterpillars grow and transform into BUTTERFLIES 🦋!

It was so amazing to be able to check on them and their shifts during our time together!

Although campers were on break when the butterflies finally made their way out, my apprentice and I released the butterflies safely into the wild.

We are so grateful for this opportunity and all of the ways we get to collaborate with our friends at The Fun Company!
