Starting January 1, 2024, businesses filing 10 or more information returns are required to e-file Form 8300, reporting cash payments over $10,000, instead of using paper returns. If you have fewer returns, e-filing is optional. To e-file, set up an account with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network's BSA E-Filing System, ensuring IRS privacy and security.

Businesses receiving over $10,000 in cash must report to the U.S. government. Form 8300 helps uncover tax evaders and those involved in criminal activities.
