First day smiles from our littlest learners to our biggest! 💙🌱

From babies to toddlers to Primary, our halls were filled with sweet smiles, happy reunions, new beginnings, and so much excitement for the year ahead.

There’s nothing quite like the first day of school at Goldberg Montessori. We are so happy to have our GMS family back together and can’t wait to watch our children learn, explore, blossom, and grow all year long! 🌸

There’s something extra special about seeing the Pink Tower come out on the first day of school! 🩷

Little hands, big concentration, and the beginning of a year filled with discovery. Through simple, purposeful work like the Pink Tower, our Montessori students are already building independence, coordination, concentration, and confidence—one cube at a time.

At Goldberg Montessori School, the Montessori journey begins earlier than you might think—right in our infant room.

Even our youngest learners are encouraged to explore, discover, and engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. From grasping and spinning simple wooden materials to exploring textures, shapes, and movement, every moment is an opportunity for growth.
You can see the focus, the curiosity, and the joy—tiny hands reaching, experimenting, and learning through doing. Whether it’s manipulating a spinning object or exploring sensory rings, these early experiences are carefully designed to support independence, coordination, and confidence.
Montessori isn’t just for preschool—it’s a foundation that starts from the very beginning. 🌱

We had such a wonderful time celebrating our Model Seders with both our Toddler and Primary groups! It was so special to see the children engaged, curious, and experiencing the traditions of Passover in such a meaningful and hands-on way.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible PTO and to all of the grandparents who volunteered their time, energy, and love. Your hard work and dedication truly made this experience so memorable for our children and community—we couldn’t have done it without you!

We love celebrating the incredible educators who make our community so special 💜

Our very own Ms. Stacey from Purple Class has been in Washington, D.C. over the past few days attending the American Montessori Society Conference—immersing herself in new ideas, learning innovative techniques, and hearing from some truly inspiring speakers in the Montessori world.

At GMS, we believe that great teachers never stop learning, and Ms. Stacey is a beautiful example of that commitment. Her dedication to growing as an educator directly benefits our children, bringing fresh inspiration, thoughtful practices, and renewed energy back into the classroom.

We can’t wait to welcome her back and hear all about what she’s learned—and more importantly, to see that knowledge come to life with our students ✨

✂️ Building Independence, One Snip at a Time ✂️

There’s so much more happening here than just cutting yarn. In this Montessori work, this child is strengthening fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and concentration—all while engaging in purposeful, hands-on learning.

In a Montessori environment, activities like this are thoughtfully designed to isolate a skill—in this case, using scissors—so children can practice at their own pace and gain confidence through repetition. The tray, the tools, and the materials are all intentionally prepared to invite independence and success.

As he carefully opens and closes the scissors, he’s not only preparing for future writing skills but also developing focus, patience, and a sense of accomplishment.

This is the beauty of Montessori: simple, meaningful work that supports the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. 💙
