A look back at our 2026 BVPS Art Show! 🎨✨

Thank you to all of the families who came out to celebrate with us and take time to admire the creativity, growth, and hard work from our students this year. We loved getting to showcase all of the learning that has happened in our classrooms along the way. 🐛🦋

We were absolutely thrilled to award scholarships this week to two students from Gravette High School who are headed into elementary education programs! 🧡🍎

Of course… we also made sure to put in a good word for early childhood education while we had the chance. 😉 There’s just something special about the preschool years.

The future is bright with passionate young people choosing careers that make a difference for kids, and we can’t wait to see where their education journeys take them!

Little hands doing big work 🧠✨

When children build with small items like magnetic builders, they’re doing so much more than just playing. Picking up, connecting, pulling apart, and adjusting these pieces helps strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers — the same muscles they’ll later use for writing, buttoning coats, tying shoes, and using scissors.

As kids build, they’re practicing:
• Hand and finger strength
• Hand-eye coordination
• Control and focus
• Problem-solving (“Why didn’t that stick?” “How can I make this work?”)

What makes this kind of play even more powerful? An engaged adult nearby.
When a teacher or caregiver sits with a child, watches, asks a question, or simply encourages them to keep trying, it builds confidence and persistence. Children learn that their ideas matter and that challenges are okay to work through. 🐛🦋

🫶 Sometimes little kids need a pause, not a punishment.

This cozy space is a place where children can step away, take a breath, and reset. Big feelings can be overwhelming—especially when kids are still learning how to name them, manage them, and move through them.

Having a calm, safe spot with soft pillows, simple props, and adult support helps children practice something really important: self-regulation. They’re learning how to slow down, notice how they feel, and use tools to calm their bodies—skills they’ll use for life.

These moments may look quiet, but a lot of learning is happening:
• Building emotional awareness
• Learning healthy coping strategies
• Gaining confidence to return to play and learning

Taking a break isn’t giving up—it’s learning how to come back ready. 🦋🐛

❄️ Snow days are pure magic — especially through preschool eyes

Snowy days are a wonderful chance for kids (and grown ups!) to slow down, explore, and play in ways that feel special and memorable. Snow invites curiosity, creativity, and lots of movement — and those are things little bodies and brains really need.

A few simple ideas to enjoy the snow (when it warms up a little):
☃️ Build a tiny snowman (or a whole snow family)
❄️ Scoop, pour, and pack snow with kitchen tools
👣 Look for footprints and animal tracks
🎨 Add food coloring to spray bottles and paint the snow

Too cold to go outside? Try these indoor ideas:
🧤 Set up an “indoor snow day” obstacle course with pillows and tunnels
📦 Build forts with blankets and chairs
🎵 Have a freeze-dance party or animal-movement game
📚 Cozy up with winter books and hot cocoa

A little boredom can spark big creativity — and play doesn’t need to be fancy to be meaningful. Here’s to four days of wonder, connection, and just enough mess to know memories were made. 🦋🐛
