🌕✨ Full Super Peace Moon Blessings from Roots Nature School ✨🌕
During our preschool daytime rhythm today, our little Moon Club explorers celebrated tonight’s luminous full supermoon—known in some traditions (and sweetly embraced by our curriculum) as The Peace Moon. According to the Farmer’s Almanac, early winter full moons are tied to themes of quiet reflection, harmony, and gathering close. A supermoon only heightens that glow, appearing larger and brighter, as if inviting us all to slow down and breathe deeper.
To honor this special lunar moment, the children enjoyed a beautiful rainbow peace cake alongside a vibrant rainbow fruit platter—a colorful nod to unity, joy, and the way nature paints in every shade. Their eyes absolutely lit up at the sight of all those colors gathered together, just like our community does.
We also shared warm, comforting wassail—a traditional spiced cider that families have sipped for generations to welcome winter with warmth and good cheer. The kids helped prepare the fruit and spices earlier in the day, filling our space with cinnamon, citrus, and cozy excitement. It was so yummy, the kind of drink that makes little shoulders relax and big smiles appear.
In circle time, we talked about what the Peace Moon invites into our lives:
✨ gentleness
✨ belonging
✨ gratitude
✨ courage for new beginnings
The children shared the things that bring them peace—snowy mornings, cuddly stuffies, forest walks, quiet moments, and holding hands with friends. Together, we sent those peaceful wishes out into the world, trusting the moon to carry them far.
May tonight’s glowing Peace Moon shine a little calm into your evening, and may the magic the children felt today ripple outward to all of you. 🌕💛
With warmth,
