🏫 Important Reminder for Sand Hill Elementary Families (Grades 1–5)!

As we gear up for the new school year, please note our schedule for Early Release Wednesdays:

Every Wednesday is an Early Release Wednesday, with student dismissal at 2:20 PM.

This includes the first day of school on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 for our Sand Hill Elementary Students in Grades 1 through 5.

Please make sure to plan ahead for afterschool childcare on these days.

Important Update Regarding Kindergarten Teacher Assignments & Open House

Dear Kindergarten Families,

We understand there are a lot of questions surrounding which teacher your kindergarten student will have, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion this has caused.

We want to share our process for finalizing classrooms so you know what to expect in the coming days:

Individual Student Meetings (August 26–28): Kindergarten teachers will soon contact each family to schedule a brief testing and get-to-know-you session with your student. These meetings are a vital opportunity for teachers to learn more about each student's unique skills, interests, and needs.

Finalizing Rosters: Once all meetings are complete, our kindergarten team will review the information together to collaboratively create balanced classroom rosters designed to support the success of every student.

Teacher Introductions: Once rosters are officially finalized, your student’s teacher will reach out to your family to introduce themselves.

We recognize that you will not know your student's specific teacher at Open House tonight and that there may be a strong desire to have this information ahead of time—especially to help ease any first-day-of-school anxieties. We truly appreciate your patience as we complete this important process to ensure the best placement for every child.

Open House Details
While you won't know your child's specific teacher yet, tonight is a wonderful opportunity to meet all of our kindergarten teachers, learn how our program operates, and become familiar with the kindergarten experience.

School Supplies
You may drop off school supplies at Open House tonight, or you are welcome to bring them to your student's individual kindergarten meeting next week. Our teachers will ensure that all supplies are distributed to the appropriate classrooms once rosters are finalized.

📄 Documents may be faxed to us at 360.277.2307 or dropped off at the Front Office between 8am - 4pm.

⚠️ Important: We cannot allow your student to attend school without their required emergency medications and an updated doctor’s order/script on file at school.

💊 All medications must be brought to school by an adult.

📚🎉 Kicking Off the 2026-2027 School Year! 🎉📚

Today, North Mason School District officially kicked off the 2026-2027 school year with all staff coming together for a morning of celebration, connection, and Bulldog pride!

We started the day with an assembly-style gathering where each school sat together and enthusiastically competed to see who could cheer the loudest. The energy in the room was incredible and served as a reminder of the passion and commitment our staff bring to our students every day.

Superintendent Dr. Michael, Executive Director of Student Services Amber Nygard, and Chief Academic Officer Cris Turner welcomed staff and helped set the tone for an exciting year ahead. We were also thrilled to recognize and welcome our newest team members to the North Mason family.

The celebration concluded with a special recognition of our long-serving staff members. We are fortunate to have employees who have dedicated 25, 30, and even nearly 40 years of service to North Mason. Their unwavering commitment has helped shape generations of students and strengthen our community.

One of the most special parts of our district is seeing former North Mason students return to serve as educators and staff members. There is something truly remarkable about teachers working alongside the very educators who once taught and inspired them.

As we prepare to welcome students back, we are grateful for the outstanding people who make North Mason such a special place to learn, grow, and succeed.

2026-2027 School Year Health Needs

Your students health and safety is very important to us here at North Mason! Please make sure to have updated medication orders, Emergency Action Plans and Tube Feed Orders ready for the 2027 school year. These documents can be faxed to us or dropped off at your students school. Please keep in mind, we cannot allow your student to attend school without their emergency medications and updated doctor’s script at school. All medications need to be brought in by an adult.
