North Mason School District The North Mason School District is a forward moving district in the beautiful Hood Canal area. We serve 2100 students and their families in six schools.

We welcome community commentary but will remove comments that violate student privacy rights and the District's civility policy. We have a comprehensive high school (9-12), one middle school (6-8), two elementary schools (P-5) and two alternative schools. Our slogan is: "Educate, Empower, Inspire & Prepare"

We are excited to share an opportunity that may provide additional after-school options for our students and families. The 2026 Boys & girls club Familes Survey Flyer outlines a potential partnership to bring after-school programming to Belfair Elementary and Sand Hill Elementary students.

If this is something that might benefit your family, we encourage you to take a few moments to complete the interest survey by September 4. Your feedback will help determine the level of interest and assist in planning programs that best meet the needs of our community.

🏈🏐🏃‍♀️🏀 Attention Hawkins Huskies Families! 🐾

Is your student interested in participating in school sports this year? Now is the time to make sure everything is ready to go!

Before athletes can begin practicing, families must complete their FinalForms registration, submit any required physical paperwork, ensure fees and fines are paid, and purchase an ASB card and sports fee. Once all requirements are completed, students will be cleared to participate.

We offer a variety of sports throughout the school year, including baseball, fastpitch, track, soccer, basketball, wrestling, volleyball, cross country, and football.

If you have questions about registration, required forms, physicals, fees, or upcoming sports seasons, please contact the Hawkins Middle School Main Office at 360-277-2302. We're happy to help get your student ready for a great season!

Even though meals are free for every student, completing the Child Nutrition Eligibility & Education Benefit (CNEEB) Application can help unlock valuable benefits for your family and provide additional support for our schools.

Completing the form may help qualify your family for:

✅ Reduced or waived fees for school programs and activities

🍎📚 Welcome Back, North Mason! 📚🍎

Yesterday marked the start of the 2026-2027 school year, and our campuses were filled with excitement, anticipation, and just a few nervous butterflies. There were plenty of smiles, hugs, and high fives as our amazing staff welcomed students back for another year of learning and growth.

We may have even spotted a couple of tears along the way, but we're pretty sure most of those came from parents and teachers! 😊

Classrooms quickly got down to business as teachers began introducing expectations, reviewing syllabi, building relationships, and setting goals for a successful year ahead. Most importantly, our students took the first steps on what promises to be an incredible journey of learning, discovery, and achievement.

Thank you to our staff, families, and students for helping make the first day so special. Here's to a fantastic 2026-2027 school year filled with success, memories, and NMSD pride!

The wait is over! Today marks the first day of school, and we are so excited to welcome our students back for an amazing year of learning, growth, and new opportunities.

Our staff has spent the summer preparing classrooms, organizing materials, and getting everything ready to make this school year a success. We can't wait to see the halls filled with smiling faces and the excitement of a new beginning.

North Mason School District is aware of the brush fire in the SR 302 area and the current road closure.

District leadership is in direct contact with the Fire Chief and is actively monitoring the situation, including any potential impacts to our schools, transportation, staff, and families.

We will share additional information if school operations are affected. Please continue to follow guidance from local fire and emergency officials and avoid the affected area.

📚🚌 School Starts Tomorrow! 🚌📚

Tomorrow is the first day of school, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our students back!

As our children head back to class, we ask our community to help keep them safe by watching carefully for students waiting at bus stops, especially during the morning hours. Many students will be excited, distracted, or experiencing their very first bus ride, and they may not always be aware of traffic around them.

Please use extra caution when: 🟡 Approaching bus stops where students may be standing near the roadway
🟡 Driving near school buses as students are loading and unloading
🟡 Traveling through neighborhoods during bus pickup and drop-off times
🟡 Watching for our youngest riders who are still learning bus safety rules and routines

We are also sharing an image that explains when vehicles must stop for a school bus. Please take a moment to review it and refresh your knowledge of these important safety requirements. Understanding and following these rules helps protect our students and supports our bus drivers as they safely transport children to and from school every day.
