📚 Tomorrow is the First Day of School! 🎉

We’re excited to welcome our BMS students back Wednesday, August 19! Please take a few minutes to review these important back-to-school reminders with your student so they can have the best start possible.

🎒 BMS Back-to-School Reminders

📅 First Day: Wednesday, August 19, 2026

📄 Class Schedules
• ALL students should pick up a paper copy of their schedule in the gym when they arrive. Changes may have been made over the last week.
• Locker numbers and combinations will be printed on student schedules.
• Schedule changes will not be made until after the first day. Students will receive a link to request an encore class change.
• Students can also access their schedules through PowerSchool using a device browser while logged into Google Chrome.

☎️ Parent/Staff Communication
Parents who need to speak with a staff member should call the office to make an appointment. Please do not come into the building, as staff will be busy helping students get settled.

🚗 Car Rider/Parent Drop-Off — Ionia Street
Please do not park or exit your vehicle on the street. Doing so creates traffic jams and unsafe conditions at intersections.

🚌 Bus Drop-Off — Wilson Street by the Gym
Please do not drop students off on Wilson Street.

⏰ School Hours
• Doors open at 7:10 AM. Students will wait outside until the doors are unlocked.
• Dismissal is at 2:25 PM.

🚘 Transportation Changes
All transportation changes must be called into the office before 1:20 PM each day. Changes received after 1:20 PM may not reach students in time.

🏫 First-Day Procedures
• Students should report directly to their first-period class on Wednesday.
• Exception: 8th-grade students taking Algebra I should report to Belding High School for a meeting with Dr. Ostrander in the Performing Arts Center.

💻 Chromebooks
Chromebooks will be issued on the second or third day of school.
The Chromebook Protection Plan is available for $20: https://beldingpac.ludus.com/index.php?sections=payments

📵 Cell Phones
Cell phones must be stored in a purse or backpack inside the student’s locker upon arrival and may not be accessed during the school day.

🔐 Lockers
• Keep locker combinations private and do not share lockers with friends.
• Locker numbers and combinations will be printed on student schedules.
• Staff will be available to help students with lockers on the first day and beyond.
• Students experiencing combination issues should see Mrs. Holt in the main office.

It’s officially school time! Our WEB Leaders were busy training the last two days and our WEB Assembly kicked off 6th grade orientation this morning! We had lots of energy, smiles, laughter, a few nervous kids, and excitement!!!🧡🖤

📸 Belding Middle School Picture Day, Schedules, Chromebooks & Locker Assignments!

We can't wait to welcome our students back on Wednesday, August 12, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.

📍 Enter through the Gym Entrance or Main Entrance

Here's what families can take care of during their visit:
✅ Student pictures (Cafeteria)
✅ Pick up paper schedules & locker assignments (Cafeteria)
✅ Visit lockers and walk the building to locate classrooms
💡 Please note: Teachers will not be available during this time.

Picture Orders
📷 Please bring your Geskus Photography postcard if you have it. Blank order forms will also be available. Picture payments may be made online in advance or at the picture table on Wednesday.

PowerSchool
💻 Student schedules will be available beginning August 12. Students can access PowerSchool using the link below while signed into Google Chrome with their school account. Use the Student Sign-on button. Parent PowerSchool access is still unavailable at this time.

Chromebooks
💻 Students can pick up their Chromebooks in the library during Picture Day.
🛡️ Chromebook Protection is $20 and may be paid:
• Cash or check in the library
• Online using the payment link below

Can't make it? No problem!

Chromebook Protection may still be purchased during the first few weeks of school. The building will also be open during regular business hours on Thursday and Friday. Please call ahead to ensure someone is available to assist you.

If your student is unable to attend Picture Day, a Picture Retake Day is already scheduled after the start of the school year.
