Hello everyone!

It’s that time again for Feeding America!

If you are planning to help out, please meet us at the gymnasium entrance on the north side of the high school at 3:30 p.m. for setup.

The Feeding America truck is scheduled to arrive at approximately 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Thank you to everyone who is able to volunteer and help make this event a success. We appreciate your time and support!

The name has changed, but the history remains.
Belding Area Schools made a major change when the district retired its longtime Redskins nickname and selected the Belding

Black Knights as its new identity. Nearly 4,000 students and community members participated in the survey that ultimately helped choose the Black Knights.

But when it comes to Belding football history, there are plenty of names that will never change — and our Mt. Rushmore begins with the legendary Irv Sigler.

Irv Sigler — Coach. Sigler turned Belding into one of Michigan's premier programs during his tenure, producing championship teams and establishing a standard that helped define an era of Belding football. He led Belding to state championship wins in 1994 and 1997.

Thomas Smith — Running Back. A tremendous running back from Belding's glory years, Smith was one of the offensive weapons who helped make the program a force during its championship era.

Brent Cummings — U of M. A standout at Belding who went on to play at the University of Michigan,

The mascot may now be the Black Knights, but the accomplishments of those who built Belding football remain part of its history.
Three legends are carved into the mountain. Who deserves that fourth spot?

Our Belding youth football teams are bringing the energy today!

💪 3rd & 4th Grade: A 14-0 victory over Comstock Park!

🔥 5th & 6th Grade: Off to a hot start, leading Rockford 8-0 early!

📣 And how about our amazing cheerleaders?! They are bringing the spirit, supporting our players, and making sure everyone feels the Black Knight pride!

The best part? Seeing our young athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, and families all wearing pink in support of Believe Week and the fight against cancer.

Today is about so much more than football. It’s about teamwork, community, supporting one another, and teaching our kids what it means to show up for others.

Once a Black Knight, Always a Black Knight! 🖤🧡🩷

What a very special night for our Belding community!

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the families who are supporting a loved one battling cancer, as well as those who have lost someone to this terrible disease. No family should have to face this journey alone, and it is inspiring to see our community come together to support one another.

The B-Foundation has now raised over $1 million to help families in our community navigate their cancer battles. What an incredible testament to the generosity, compassion, and strength of the Belding community. We are so proud to be part of a community that continues to show up for one another when it matters most.
