Our end of the year celebration on Friday was out of this world! Equipped with a pop-up planetarium, astronaut food, custom TUNE pennants, and incredible food from Harford Community College - we had such a wonderful time celebrating our graduating students.

Thank you to our guests of honor - TU’s President Dr. Mark Ginsberg and Dr. Vernon Hurte, Senior VP for Student Affairs for attending and offering congratulations to our students. And thank you to our alumni speaker, Jules Smith for coming back to TUNE to share some words of wisdom.

Most importantly, shout out to our fearless leader, John Desmone, Executive Director of TUNE for being our astronaut guide through the galaxy through the evening 🚀🧑‍🚀

Undergraduate research is such an incredible opportunity and we're so proud of these two TUNE students taking advantage of the chance to engage in research with faculty in their departments.

Communications Major Angelica Jones presented her research - "Effects of K-pop Messages on Fan's Mental Health" at the Communications Research Symposium on main campus.

Information Technology Major Kendall Marx presented two research projects - "Personalized Learning in the Age of AI" and "Adaptive Curriculum Design for Coding Education" - at the Undergraduate Research Symposium, the College of Liberal Arts Scholarship and Inquiry Conference, and the Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience on main campus.

Alyssa Antonakos is a core part of our TUNE team. A graduating psychology student, there’s a lot to celebrate her for:

Alaki Ani Wellington, senior psychology major, was awarded the Vice President of Student Affairs Leadership Award and Jaclyn Coates, our Assistant Director was awarded the Margie Tversky Advisor of the Year Award!🥇

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and to show our support, TUNE staff participated in Go Green! on Friday. Mental health conditions are all around us: in the United States, nearly 1 in 5 U.S. adults, teens, and young adults live with a mental health condition, and 46% of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition during their lifetime.
