The John Carroll School The John Carroll School in Bel Air, Maryland, is an independent, college-preparatory, co-ed Catholic school for grades 9–12.

The John Carroll School (est. 1964) is an independent, college-preparatory, co-educational Catholic school for grades 9–12 in Bel Air, MD, in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. The School is named after John Theodore Carroll, SJ, the first Catholic bishop and archbishop in the United States — serving as the ordinary of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore. In the early 1960s, the

decision was made by Cardinal Lawrence Shehan to build an Archdiocesan Catholic high School on a 72-acre site in Harford County, Maryland. The John Carroll School opened to 202 freshmen on September 9, 1964, under the leadership of Principal Reverend Raymond Wanner. In 1971, The John Carroll School, in an agreement with the Archdiocese of Baltimore, became an independent Catholic School, operated by its own elected Board of Trustees and administrated by a principal. In 2008, the Board of Trustees voted to change the organizational structure of the School to the president-principal model, which continues to this day.

Ready to rock? 🎸 "All Shook Up" auditions are coming! Whether you're a seasoned performer or have never stepped foot on a stage, this is your chance to try something new, have fun and be part of a fast-paced, high-energy musical comedy inspired by and featuring the music of Elvis Presley!

Audition Information
Wednesday, September 9, 4:00–6:00 p.m.: Grades 9 & 10
Thursday, September 10, 4:00–6:00 p.m.: Grades 11 & 12
Thursday, September 10, 6:00–8:00 p.m.: Callbacks, if needed

Performances are November 13 & 14 at 7:00 p.m. and November 14 & 15 at 2:00 p.m.

That's a wrap on the 2025–2026 school year! Our students shined — academically, personally and with purpose. Walking alongside them, watching their growth and celebrating their successes is why we do what we do.
