Nothing puts a smile on my face quite like sharing a Saturday morning (not to mention reconnecting over the past couple of weeks!!) with these wonderful student teachers and my private online students (youth). Pre-class warmups and introductions, tongue twisters, cardio singing, students singing through their current songs, and thanks to these Ladies for bringing games and short lessons from musical charades to dance positions, lyric/tune recognition and more!

So happy right now ☺️ I could not be more proud of this young lady. Michaela Berres put on her own solo cabaret today at my studio. It was a beautiful, intimate, superbly executed performance. She showed us vulnerability, her real story, her heart, with laughter and tears, mixed in with selected songs from musicals, favorite artists, and several originals. Needless to say, but an hour long solo recital about your life is a heck of an impressive way to finish your Junior year of high school. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this journey, and so proud to see this young person grow and share her amazing self. Thank you 💕

I had something special.

No—I MADE something special.

This is why my heart breaks a little more each time I say goodbye to a student I’ve grown with for 6, 7, 8 years—or more.

My School of Music in Bel Air was something that had an incredible life, full of the kind of joy, life, love, creativity and inspiration that any teacher, and really anyone, could hope for.

It was beautiful. It will be a part of me forever. I am eternally grateful.

Saying “goodbye” is difficult, but is just a step in my journey.

Annapolis may not seem far away, but to Bel Air, it’s another state, almost another world. I know, because I grew up there...and it hasn’t changed.

Here’s the thing: I am still a teacher at heart. It’s the core of who I am. I am thankful to now work for and with someone who I strongly believe also has this core, while continuing my career as a part-time private/group instructor.

Thank you for all the moments—the laughs, the ups and downs of every student’s life. Join me online and in Annapolis for the next step!

Hey there, Bel Air!

The weather can really mess things up when you’re prepping for auditions and have to cancel lessons. So, I had FaceTime voice lesson with a student, and it was surprisingly easy and efficient! I have a waiting list for Bel Air, and if you can’t make the drive to Annapolis work (where I live and have another studio space) why not try online lessons?

Audition prep (choosing the right song/cut/key), song analysis, vocal technique, musicianship/theory/chord-reading, ear training, sight-singing, songwriting—and you don’t have to leave your house!
