Spent the day at our second office in Edgewood today and had the pleasure of working w 4 youth. Well 22 and 23 year olds looking for not only jobs but a future, so we spoke of certificates and programs and they literally transformed from disengaged , slouched over to sitting up straight, shoulders back. They applied for jobs, signed up for programs and we talked about proper dress and interview skills. As they left we hugged and one said, “my mom said thank you for helping me.” Ok yep heart filled! And tear shed! Great way to end a wonderful year!! Thank you all for your help and support !!

Received this morning from one of our newer employees, " Dear All,
After pondering on last night at XX Elementary and watching and participating in the support, I want to share my thoughts with you. I have seen many non-profits over the years, many that provide support in name only. LASOS is not one of those non-profits. Watching the kids interact with each of you was extremely powerful. When young people connect with others, it impacts their brains in a very profound and important way. When it is connected with an integral life activity, like school or schoolwork, this connection is even more consequential and beneficial to their growth and development. I know these activities usually happen at the end of a long day, but I just want you to know how powerful your presence and positive energy was and is to these children and the future.
