⚡️ AN AED CANNOT HURT SOMEONE—BUT HESITATION CAN. ⚡️
AEDs look intimidating, but they are designed for anyone to use. If someone collapses, call 911, start CPR, and open the AED. The machine will talk you through every step!

🩹 The "Top Right, Bottom Left" Placement:
The pads have clear diagrams printed right on them. Peel and stick them firmly onto a bare, dry chest:
* Pad 1: Upper right side of the chest (just below the collarbone).
* Pad 2: Lower left side of the chest (just below the armpit).

🔊 Next Steps:
1. Plug in the cable (if not already attached).
2. Stand clear while the AED analyzes the heart rhythm. Do not touch the person!
3. Press the shock button ONLY if the machine explicitly tells you to.
4. Resume CPR immediately after.

Myth vs. Fact: Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness 🚨

MYTH: If someone is breathing, they aren't in cardiac arrest.

FACT: A person experiencing sudden cardiac arrest may have agonal gasps—abnormal, infrequent gasping breaths that can be mistaken for normal breathing.

Agonal breathing is not normal breathing. It's a sign of cardiac arrest and a medical emergency.

If someone is unresponsive and gasping:
1. Call 911 immediately
2. Start CPR
3. Send someone to retrieve an AED

Recognizing the difference could save a life. Every second counts when sudden cardiac arrest strikes.

❤️ It’s CPR & AED Awareness Week | June 1–7 ❤️

There is a belief that only medically trained professionals should perform CPR. The truth is, that misconception costs lives.

This CPR & AED Awareness Week, the American Heart Association is reminding everyone that the power to save a life is in your hands.

CPR isn't just a medical skill, it's a shared human responsibility. You need awareness, confidence, and the willingness to act when every second counts.

🏠 About 3 out of 4 cardiac arrests that occur outside of a hospital happen at home, meaning the life you save could be a spouse, parent, child, neighbor, coworker, or friend.

💪 For adults and teens, Hands-Only CPR can double or even triple a person's chance of survival.

Whether you're at home, at work, in the gym, or cheering from the sidelines at your child's soccer game, cardiac arrest can happen anywhere. That's why parents, caregivers, neighbors, coworkers, and friends are often the “first responders” before the first responders arrive.

This week, take a step toward being prepared:
✔ Find a CPR class near you at http://spr.ly/6189B8Yg3F
✔ Refresh your skills
✔ Share CPR resources with others
✔ Help build a community ready to act

Because heroism isn't reserved for uniforms, it's everyday people stepping up when someone needs them most.
