Alpha 1 Tactical LLC is a fi****ms safety and training company founded in 2017 by current law enforcement officer Latif Whitsett. Latif has spent over 11 years in law enforcement and the private security sector. He started his career in 2006 by becoming a security officer. He was quickly promoted to an Office Manager/Field Supervisor due to his drive and ambition. Latif decided to take his law enf

orcement career one step further by moving to Oklahoma and pursuing a career as a peace officer. In 2007, he began college in Tulsa to obtain his degree in Criminal Justice. In 2009, he began working as a Detention Officer with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office (TCSO). As a Detention Officer he was assigned to the jail and a year later was transferred to their training division. After completing the Police Academy, he pursued a position on the County SWAT Team and was able to complete the application process for SWAT in 2014. Latif currently is a Training Coordinator for TCSO. During his time with TCSO, Latif has built a exceptional training background. He has attended and completed advanced SWAT school, advanced hostage rescue, advanced wilderness tactics, law enforcement response to exterior active shooter events and more. He currently instructs courses for CLEET police academy, NRA pistol, CCW/SDA, and Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events. He has spent years preparing for this opportunity and has a passion for teaching others .

Thank you to all the students who came out for our EDC Tactical Defense course!

Students developed practical skills in defensive shooting, movement, emergency medical care, decision-making under stress, and scenario-based training.

These courses are typically held on the first Friday of each month. Our next class is scheduled for Friday, September 11. Stay ready, keep training, and always strive to be Alpha 1!

Throwback Thursday.

Looking back at my first opportunity to present workplace violence training for Muscogee Creek Nation. Standing in front of a large organization was both exciting and humbling, and I had no idea where that moment would eventually lead.

This picture is a reminder that growth starts by saying “yes” to opportunities that push you outside your comfort zone. Every presentation, every class, and every challenge has helped shape the instructor and leader I am today.

Never stop chasing your goals. You never know which opportunity will change your life.

Over the weekend, Idaho witnessed another heartbreaking act of violence. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone impacted.

In this video, I break down the actions of the armed citizen who stepped in to stop the threat, the legal concept of defending others, tactical considerations, and why preparation matters.
