STEM Student Spotlight! ⭐️

Every Thursday we are shining the spotlight on one student from each grade, which means by the end of the year you will have met every single student at the STEM Academy! This week’s three were drawn at random, and we loved every second of talking with them.

🌟 Kim, 3rd grade
Kim is reading Grandma and the Great Gourd, sharpening her multiplication facts, and learning all about lab safety. She is brand new to the Academy, and when we asked what she likes best, she lit up and said everything! One day she wants to be a detective. And the thing she is proudest of? Being accepted into the Academy. 💛

🌟 Gunner, 4th grade
Gunner is exploring different types of energy in science, diving into biographies and autobiographies in reading, and mastering the place value chart in math. His favorite part of the Academy is easy: the projects, because the projects are fun! Gunner is dreaming of becoming a forensic investigator, and he is proud of all of his achievements.

🌟 John, 5th grade
John is working on prefixes and suffixes in reading, studying the different types of soil in science, and tackling multiplication and division of decimals in math. When he grows up, he is headed for the big leagues as an MLB player! ⚾ Ask him what he is proudest of and the answer is simple: being part of STEM.

CCMR Wednesday at Erasmo Rodriguez STEM Academy 🎓

Every Wednesday, our students dress for the future they are building. College. Career. Military.

Readiness does not start in high school. It starts here, with students who are already picturing themselves in the careers that will shape our community.

Our students are curious, ambitious, and already dreaming big. We could not be prouder.

We are beyond excited to share that Beeville Elementary has been selected to host the Texas Mobile STEM Laboratory! 🎉🔬🚀

Out of hundreds of applications from campuses all across Texas, our school was chosen. That is a huge honor and a reflection of the incredible students, teachers, and families that make this place special.

So what exactly is it? Picture a fully outfitted STEM lab on wheels rolling right onto our campus. Inside, students step into a real engineering design space with a large format touchscreen, lab equipment, and a trained facilitator ready to put them to work. They will define problems, brainstorm solutions, build, test, and improve their designs.🛠️💡

All classes across our campus will get their turn inside the lab. 💛

A huge thank you to Texas Education Agency and Learning Undefeated for bringing this experience to our students at absolutely no cost to our school.

Mark your calendars, because the lab rolls in this November! We cannot wait to see our students designing, building, and testing their way through it.

What a fantastic first week at the Erasmo Rodriguez STEM Academy! 🎉🔬

Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders jumped right in this week. We got to know one another, built relationships, and wrote our social contracts following our CKH strategies. We could not be more excited for week two to start on Monday, and we truly love working with each and every one of our students.

📚 Quick reminder: please have all students bring their school supplies with them on Monday!

Check out some of our Erasmo Rodriguez STEM Academy students proudly representing a college, career, or branch of the military in their CCMR shirts! 💙

So what is CCMR? CCMR stands for College, Career, and Military Readiness. It’s all about preparing our students for success beyond the classroom, whether that means heading off to college, stepping into a rewarding career, or serving in the military. Even in 3rd through 5th grade, it’s never too early to start dreaming big and thinking about the amazing futures ahead of these kids!

We love seeing our students get excited about their goals. The future is bright at the STEM Academy! ✨

🎉 What an AMAZING first day of school! 🎉

Erasmo Rodriguez STEM Academy families, our hearts are so full! Watching our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders walk in with big smiles and so much energy reminded us why we love what we do. Thank you for trusting us with your children. We cannot WAIT to have them back tomorrow!

📣 Reminder: tomorrow is CCMR Wednesday!

CCMR stands for College, Career, and Military Readiness. Each Wednesday we help students dream big about their futures, whether that’s a college campus, a career they love, or serving our country.

👕 What to wear: Students participating may wear a CCMR shirt with jeans or appropriate length shorts. Students not participating will wear their regular STEM uniform.

🍎 2 MORE SLEEPS! 🍎

The Erasmo Rodriguez STEM Academy is SO excited to welcome our students back! We can hardly wait to see all of those bright faces walking through our doors! 🌟

📍 A friendly reminder that we will be temporarily located at FMC Elementary.

⏰ Arrival is 7:45 a.m. and dismissal is 3:30 p.m., so make sure your little scientists, builders, and innovators are ready to start the day bright and early!

🎒 On the first day, students only need to bring a clear backpack and headphones. More info on school supplies will be shared later!

🗓️ Schedule Pick Up is Monday, August 10th at the ACJ Rotunda area. Please note there will NOT be a Meet the Teacher at this time. That date will be shared with you later, so stay tuned!

Hello STEM Families,

As we start another exciting school year, we want to remind you about our STEM Academy uniform rules.

Students should come to school each day wearing:
Navy blue or gray polo shirt
Blue or khaki pants/shorts of appropriate length
Shoes that are appropriate for school

Fridays are Spirit/Free Dress Days! Students can wear school spirit wear or follow the Friday free-dress rules.

Don't forget about CCMR Wednesdays! Each Wednesday, students are encouraged to wear a college, career, or military shirt. This helps us celebrate future goals and inspires students to think about their path after school. They can wear this shirt with jeans.

Thank you, parents, for helping our STEM Academy students look their best, stay ready for learning, and represent our academy with pride!
