Mimi’s Bumble Bees Childcare Center

At Mimi’s Bumble Bees Childcare Center, this week the toddler lesson plan is “Ants and Bees.” Lesson plan comes from FrogStreet curriculum. While learning about Bees, curriculum suggested a social Emotional Development activity, “toast snd honey.” Ms Mariah and Ms Grayson, teachers in the toddler class, invited toddlers to eat toast and honey with friends. Provided toast and and assisted children spread a little honey on top. Teachers pointed out that Bees make honey. Allergy check was done before activity. So many learning skills while spreading honey, social skill, language development, eye hand coordination while enjoying a tasty treat.

Today, before lunch I did a little activity with the school age kiddos. I told them that I had seen a cute ladybug and growing up I would hear that if a lady bug landed on your shoulder, you could make a wish. I had a group of about 18 school age, so I asked them if a ladybug landed on your shoulder what would you wish for, just pretend. The first little girl raised her hand and stood up and said, “nothing, I have everything I need and want already.” Really touched my heart!!! Next, a boy raised his hand and said, “grandma mom, do you know that ladybugs bite.” Well there goes my activity, now might as well go into “Simon Says.” I love our kiddos, each and everyone has their own beautiful personality. Thank you Ms Michelle and Ms Leeann, Mimi’s Bumble Bees PK teachers for motivating our kiddos to learn through play. Also thanks to Fernando and F***y, our FrogStreet mascots for helping out. So much respect and care for our mascots that are so involved in following curriculum. Pk is on their last week of FrogStreet lesson plans for the school year. Next is finish up assessments, graduation ceremony and time to enjoy some summer fun. The learning will continue through summer activities. At Mimi’s Bumble Bees Childcare we will do whatever is needed to maintain our TRS level 4 stars, for your kiddos.
