We are incredibly proud of our Cougar Catholic Student Organization officers for their outstanding example of interfaith service and leadership! 🐾✨
This week, CCSO officers partnered with the Beeville Vineyard and the Beeville First United Methodist church to donate much-needed items to our community. Their work shows how faith in action can bring people together across traditions.
Our student leaders continue to embody compassion, generosity, and the CBC spirit through their multifaith outreach efforts.
Thank you to Carla, Brittany, and Rydr for leading with heart and purpose! 💙

🎓💙 Prowl to Success: Proud to be First 💙
Meet Glenda, our Accounts Receivable Specialist in the Business Office, who is stepping into a world no one in her family has experienced before.
She shared, “Being a First Gen means stepping into a world that no one in my family has experienced before, and becoming the person who opens doors for those who come after me.”
Her biggest motivation comes from home.
“My children and spouse have been my biggest motivation. I wanted to show them that it’s possible to break cycles and set new standards for the next generation.”
Like many First Gen students, she faced challenges along the way.
“One of my biggest challenges was overcoming the anxiety and fear of the unknown. Navigating through Financial Aid and scheduling courses, being that it had been years since I last attended, was hard. I pulled through though thanks to my amazing coworkers and CBC colleagues.”
Looking back, she says,
“I wish I knew how rewarding it really is to invest in your education.”
And her advice for others walking this path is powerful:
“Give yourself grace… Stay focused on your goal, lean on your support system, and remember that being First Gen is your strength not your limitation.”
We’re proud to celebrate Glenda’s journey, her resilience, and her First Gen pride! 💙🐾

🎓💙 Prowl to Success: Proud to be First 💙
Meet Leticia, a determined First Gen student who is proving that it’s never too late to pursue your dreams. Her greatest motivation comes from her children—after watching their father earn his master’s degree, Leticia set out to show them that they can accomplish anything they put their minds to at any stage of life.
Her journey comes with challenges, including pushing herself to stay focused and tuning out remarks from others about starting college later on. But her hard work is paying off. One of her biggest victories so far has been being accepted into PTK, the National Honor Society for college students.
Leticia is now getting closer to her dream of becoming an educator. She shared that shaping young minds has always been her passion, and once her moment arrived, she took it and ran with it.
We’re proud to celebrate Leticia’s resilience and her First Gen pride! 💙🐾
Short-session study tip: use the 30–60–90 plan. 30 min preview, 60 min focused study, 90 min practice/projects. Repeat weekly for each class.

“Ser estudiante universitaria de primera generación en Colombia significa superar barreras y construir un futuro diferente para mi familia.” – Nancy, First Gen Graduate y CBC Learning Specialist 🎓
