Antoinette Werner/James Churchill/James Wunderlich Memorial Scholarship
The philanthropic Werner family owned the First State Bank of Beecher for many years. Upon the death of Antoinette, in addition to leaving funds to each of the local churches, instructions were left that money be placed into an account with the annual interest designated for scholarships to be given to deserving graduating Beecher High School seniors.

The Churchill family owned farmland on the perimeter of the village and donated acreage to the school district in the 1970’s. Mrs. Churchill was a librarian in the district for many years and upon the death of her husband, James, placed funds into an account with the interest to be used annually for the purpose of providing scholarships for deserving graduating Beecher High School graduates.

James Wunderlich was a student at Beecher High School when he was tragically killed in the 1950’s in a car/tractor accident north of town. His parents were longtime educators in the community. In the 1980’s, anonymous funds were received with instructions given to place the funds into an account in James Wunderlich’s memory with the annual interest to be designated for scholarships for Beecher High School graduates.

This scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,500.
