We lost another classmate, folks. Connie happened to see David Sunday’s obit today. I don’t believe I knew David in school but he was part of the BHS Class of ‘73 and a Cafeteria Assistant in our Senior year. It appears that this job helped define his love for food and cooking as written in his obit. The Class of ‘73 sends its heartfelt condolences to David’s family and friends. David Sunday Obituary

David Sunday, age 71, of Bedford passed away Saturday, August 8, 2026.David was the beloved son of Joseph & Mabel Sunday and a beloved Brother and “Uncle David” to many.
He will be greatly missed.

David enjoyed more than anything hosting and feeding family and friends. His meals were very memorable such as “Sunday Soup” and all meals would include his famous salad and vegetable plates. He also enjoyed music and singing with family especially with his precious Mother which brought him so much joy.

Friends will be received Friday, August 14, 2026 from 4-7 PM at Busch-Romito Funeral Home (formerly Johnson-Romito ) 521 Broadway Ave. Bedford, Ohio where prayers will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 9:15 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church 14600 Turney Road, Maple Heights, Ohio. Burial at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield, Ohio

We proudly grew up learning about ‘The Spirit of ‘76’ that was painted by Archibald Willard (in 1875) who was born and raised in Bedford, Ohio, our hometown. He had three ‘models’ pose for his picture, with the middle one being his father, Samuel, a pastor at Bedford Baptist Church. In 1863, he joined the 86th Ohio Infantry Regiment and fought in the Civil War where he had painted several war pictures. Willard Avenue was named in his honor. 🥁🇺🇸

So long, old school. You can take down the building but cannot erase the memories and good times! For our 45th reunion in 2018, Connie and I organized a full high school tour and presented district officials with a grant check from the class of ‘73. The school provided us all with tickets to the football game that night and a full spread tailgate! What a way to create a final memory of Bedford High School! We’ll miss you BHS! 💚🤍 ~ Susan ~
