Hello everyone! Currently looking for a family to host a BOY from FRANCE! Very outgoing, is interested in getting to know his host family, wants to be involved with school sports possibly, and is very independent!

*Remember students are responsible to purchase all things needed for school and host families are not responsible or asked to purchase necessities/personals. My last year exchange student group!

A plumber and his wife hosted a FLEX student once. (FLEX is a scholarship program) They debated for a while if this was something they would be able to do. What would they provide this young person? Would they be the impact this young person needed? They decided to give it a shot!

They picked a young man. He was so interested in learning about the plumbers job. Always asking questions and watching as he worked. The plumber thought that this boy must be just trying to be nice. He was with all intentions "being nice" and wanted to actively be part of his family. Our students love being part of your family, but he was doing something else. He was learning.

Upon his arrival back home to his home country he used the knowledge he had learned from his host father, the plumber, he then changed his entire villages life. He taught some friends of his new education and they together built the FIRST water filtration system to exist in their village. It was the first working plumbing system and had managed to not just change his life, but an ENTIRE community.

That is how you can change the world. By being an influence, by opening a door, by being you. You will push students to new heights and you will show them things that are part of your everyday that will give them the ideas and ability to change their worlds!

Lets talk about hosting. Lets talk about how opening your heart and door for a school year can be the biggest impact for you also!

Here are some tips and tricks to have THE BEST EXCHANGE YEAR EVER as a HOST family!

Plan small things. You know how you have wanted to have family game nights but, you seem caught up and busy? Let this be your motivation! Maybe you want to wear ugly Christmas sweaters but, your own children just moan and grown.. Well an exchange student will gladly wear it with pride! Maybe you haven't visited those local sites around town lately, seems so meaningless because "well we can do that any day" Come on, how often have you said that? Well here's an opportunity to explore right in your neighborhood to show your student around! Community events, the local park, favorite coffee shop are all great things to do!

Tip 1. Plan small, not big. We do not expect host families to take their students on vacations or miraculous trips. We want our host families to be a FAMILY. Find and provide the little joys in life!

Trick 1. Use it to your advantage and bring your own family closer together! Trust me.. Your kids will find it cool 😎 that your student likes to help you cook, they'll most likely want in on the action to!
