Earlier this week K-8 tiered support, learning specialists and math teachers engaged in their first day of Ongoing Assessment Project training! The program is research-based and designed to help teachers understand how students develop mathematical thinking.

Fifth graders in Andrea Cicchelli and Meg Stanford’s classes at West Patent Elementary School started the year developing a Class Charter to establish how they want to "feel" in the classroom.

Cicchelli and the students spent the first day brainstorming and discussing words that described how they want to feel. 21 words fell into four categories: safe, inclusive, ready to learn, happy.

Students then developed ideas for how they could ensure the classroom felt the way they wanted through a Building Thinking Classroom model lesson. They used large whiteboards and markers and had an opportunity to move around the room, adding ideas to each board while working with diverse learning groups.

This week, they’ll type up their class charter and discuss what to do if they aren't living up to their Class Charter.

Pound Ridge Elementary School fifth graders cooked up some serious reading excitement on Friday!

Dressed in full chef attire, students stepped into Amy Coughlin and Joan Spector’s classroom “bistros” for a cozy Book Tasting. They sampled menu after menu of different genres to explore all the amazing flavors the PRES library has to offer before crafting their ultimate “must-read” lists for the year.

Seeing every reader—especially the most hesitant ones!—walk away beaming with a book they can’t wait to devour is the absolute best way to kick off our reading community!

There were a lot of hugs, a lot of laughs and a healthy dose of competition yesterday as Bedford Central School District kicked off the 2026-27 school year with Superintendent’s Conference Day.

It was a day to reconnect, recalibrate and review the theme for the 2026-27 school year: to champion excellence through active, connected learning.

Fox Lane High School's Engineering Program continues to provide students with exceptional opportunities through a rigorous, college-level curriculum.

This year, 85 students earned a total of 255 college credits through our dual enrollment partnership with Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Those credits represent nearly $600,000 in college tuition value if earned directly through RIT.

Through challenging hands-on engineering courses, students develop problem-solving, design, and technical skills while getting a head start on college.
