Bedford’s 2026 Annual Town Meeting begins this coming Monday, March 23 at 6:30 PM. The FY27 School Budget is part of Article 15. The BEA is asking all supporters and educators who are Bedford residents to come to Town Meeting and support this budget increase with your public comments and votes of approval. This budget includes a 3.08% increase over FY26. To get to that number, the School Committee had to make some difficult decisions. A show of support for our schools, as we saw at last school year’s Special Town Meeting, is the best way you can ensure BPS remains properly funded.

The School Committee will be presenting their FY27 budget to the Finance Committee for their recommendation this Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7PM in Town Hall. The School Committee’s budget proposes a 3.08% increase to the school budget. This budget can only be achieved with significant fiscal restraint, targeted reductions, and new student fees, but is also still above the Finance Committee’s 2.5% guideline. The BEA encourages members and parents to attend and show their support for approval of this budget without any further, harmful cuts.
