“Hutch’s Rainbow Bridge” the author’s sixth book, contains sixty short stories and forty sketches or photos of dogs, cats and horses he and his family have enjoyed during the lifetime of the ninety–three year old educator and author. Pets have enriched his life and he writes of them in the same ‘down-home lighthearted vein he used in his fifth book, “On Leatherwood Creek,” a 2016 Indiana Bicentennial project following his four WW II Eighth Army Air Corps books. “Hutch’s Rainbow Bridge” salutes Lawrence County’s 2018 Bicentennial. He says he has lived almost half the bicentennial and is qualified to write of his pets from tot to great-grandfather.
