Here we are, basking in the energy of the dark moon.
When last we spoke, Venus was entering retrograde, and we were about to enter that shadow period before good ol' Mercury goes retrograde.
With the new moon's positioning in Libra, we were asked to consider forms of balance, reciprocity, relationships, fairness, and the choices we make to maintain harmony.
Now that we have done all of the contemplating and asking what remains, what this is, and what we have learned, it is now time to consider what we would like to begin, now that we are approaching the questions with a little more honesty.
Remember, we are here to learn and grow, so new beginnings do not require us to have all of the angles hammered down and figured out.
There are some aspects of our work that we can figure out and tweak as we go.
It is, however, important to have the answer to this question firmly in place:
Do the choices we've made about what we carry forward or start anew reflect our values, or do they reflect someone/something else's values?
If it is decided that these choices were made outside of the realm of sovereignty, maybe consider doing some contract-breaking work.
This is a severing of energetic ties from either this lifetime or contracts/agreements we have carried with us from prior lives or states of being.
Some of these agreements may have been made consciously. Others may have formed through fear, survival, loyalty, or the desire to be accepted. Some may have been handed down through generations, absorbed from the people and the environments that shaped us (really, Grandma, couldn't I just get that wonderful China set?), or maybe we carried them forward from places and experiences we are still working to understand.
At some point in time, we may have accepted the idea that struggle is simply our lot in life. Many of us were taught that love requires suffering, that our needs always come last, or that we need to earn the right to happiness and abundance.
Over time, these beliefs become energetic agreements we continue to honor either consciously or unconsciously, long past their expiration date.
Seriously, we should examine these things as frequently as we sniff the jug of milk in the fridge.
Contract-breaking work gives us the opportunity to reclaim our own authority and consciously choose what we want for the next chapter.
As sovereign beings, we are allowed to outgrow unhealthy agreements. We are allowed to travel a different road. We are allowed to make choices based on who we are becoming, rather than remaining bound to what we once believed we needed to be.
Now is a great time to shed agreements binding us to:
Poverty
Lack
Suffering
Unhappiness
Strife
Make a small ritual for yourself.
This is fun when done at a threshold. Sprinkle some salt blessed with some uncrossing oil and something intended to grease the wheels and bring quick results.
Make a statement along these lines:
"I hereby sever any and all contracts or ties that bind me to (insert condition you are dismissing) that were formed in this lifetime, in any past lifetime, or in any other state of being. Your purpose has run its course and is now at an end. I step forward and claim abundance, prosperity, (insert other more desirable conditions). I stand in this lifetime sovereign in my being, in my work, and in what I carry forward from this moment on. I now move with the embodiment of self-trust, agency, peace, and the freedom found in making my own choices. And so it is."
Step through the threshold and walk toward the rest of your work.
If you want to get super fancy, you can work some candles into the mix.
When we wake up tomorrow, we will be heading into the tiniest sliver of the maiden's new beginnings.
Breathe in her essence and reclaim your path.
If you're so led, let me know how this works out for you.
All my best.
