Unfortunately, I knew this day would come, but it's still hard to believe. Karen Lua, one of the kindest, smartest people I have known, formally announced her retirement.

For 18 years, Karen worked with me as my administrative assistant who truly loved this school and cared deeply for community. She was often the first to arrive and the last to leave, and she played a huge role in making sure every family and new staff member felt welcomed from the moment they entered Lane. Her warmth, dedication, and professionalism shaped the caring Lane culture we’re so proud of today.

We were incredibly lucky to have Karen as part of our school community. One of the best things about life is that you never know who you’ll meet or how much they’ll come to mean to you—I’ll always be grateful that Karen was one of those people.

Snack Donations:
Lane School keeps a supply of snacks for students whose families may be experiencing financial hardship or other extenuating circumstances, and the occasional student that forgets a snack. BEST/PTO assists us with this effort and we also appreciate donations from families. Donations need to be store bought snacks, that are individually wrapped, nut-free, and be able to be stored without refrigeration. Please drop off any donations in the main office. Thank you.
