Messenger College

Messenger College At Messenger College, we believe every calling deserves preparation. Messenger College was founded in 1987.

That’s why we offer both in-person and online classes, equipping Spirit-filled leaders to serve the Church, impact communities, and reach the nations. In November of 1983, the Pentecostal Church of God elected to merge two collegiate institutions into one college in Joplin, Missouri, the host city of its international headquarters. Southern Bible College (Houston, Texas) and Evangelical Christian

College (Fresno, California), were consequently closed. The resources of both institutions were relocated to Joplin, Missouri. Subsequently, Messenger College was able to open in newly constructed facilities on wooded acres across from the international offices of the church denomination. The College officially opened its doors in September, 1987. In May of 2011, a terrible EF-5 tornado devastated the city of Joplin. Messenger College opened its campus as a distribution and volunteer housing center during that summer. In the aftermath of this even, Mercy Health Systems approached Messenger College with an offer to purchase its campus as the new site for their hospital, which was destroyed in the tornado. This offer made possible the relocation of the college to its current campus in Euless, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area. Messenger College is a legal entity operating under statutes of the State of Texas. Messenger College is the national collegiate institution of the Pentecostal Church of God in the United States for the education of its ministers, missionaries, teachers and other professionals to serve its constituency and others in the United States and abroad. The Pentecostal Church of God consists of 1,134 churches in the United States. In addition, the denomination’s outreach to Third World nations include 3,365 churches and outstations, 107 schools and training centers, and numerous assistance programs providing food, clothing and related human care outreaches.

Today, Messenger College officially closed on the sale of our student housing, The Commons.

Seasons of transition are often accompanied by both sadness and excitement. While Messenger College is excited about the future, we also want to take a moment to recognize all that God did in the lives of those who lived in and visited The Commons.

From 2012 until today, The Commons was more than an apartment complex for our staff and students; it was home. It witnessed some of life's greatest struggles, triumphs, transitions, and seasons of growth. Within those walls, people were baptized, worshipped together, formed lifelong friendships, navigated relationships, learned valuable lessons, discovered their calling, and, most importantly, heard from God.

No matter how much time you spent at The Commons, chances are you have a story to tell.

So, let's take a moment to remember the good things God has done there...the moments that changed the trajectory of our lives for the better and the moments that drew us closer to Jesus.

If you have lived in or visited The Commons over the years, we would love for you to share your favorite memories in the comments. Tag your roommates. Post pictures from your favorite dorm room moments. Post if you lived in that apartment and share your favorite memories. Tell us if you were baptized in the pool, received the gift of the Holy Spirit, gave your life to Christ, found freedom, or made friendships that have lasted a lifetime. Let's reminisce together and celebrate the experiences that connected us as the Messenger College family living in The Commons.

And then, let's join together in celebrating the next chapter of Messenger College. We believe God has incredible things ahead, and the future is bright!

Thank you, The Commons, for the memories. Now, we are thanking God for all He has done and for all He has yet to do. ❤️💙🦅

Campus Revival Recap 🔥

We had a powerful time this week during our Campus Revival services in the IMC Chapel. We were honored to have Rev. Tanner Bedard minister to our students, bringing a timely and impactful word that stirred hearts and encouraged renewal through the presence of God.

It was a meaningful time of worship, prayer, and reflection as students gathered together expecting God to move, and He did!

If you missed it or would like to experience it again, you can watch the full service here:
